State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship
The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship doesn't require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a 2017 graduating high school senior. High school seniors must have a cumulative GPA between a 2.5 and 3.2 on
a 4.0 scale. Plan to enroll full-time for the 2017-18 academic year at an accredited 2- or

Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars Program
Eligibility: The Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars program is available to female high school students in Michigan, Ohio, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota. Summer Scholars are typically in the top 10% of their high school class and are currently in 10th or 11th grade; however, we have named Summer Scholars who are currently in 9th grade. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Students from Missouri are not eligible for Joyce Ivy scholarships to remain in-state to attend Washington University in St. Louis. Past Summer Scholars have expressed that it is extremely valuable to have a chance to travel out of state.
Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholarships support select summer academic experiences at Barnard, Brown, Cornell, Emory, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Smith, Stanford, and Washington University in St. Louis. Please see our supported Summer Programs section for more information on these programs.

2017 Springfield FFA Boosters Scholarship
Scholarships to be awarded in varying amounts up to $2000 in the form of a check made out to the student at the completion of his/her first semester of college. A copy of the student’s first semester transcript must be presented to the FFA Booster Treasurer. All applications will be judged by the Executive committee of the Springfield Boosters using the following criteria listed in priority order:

The Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism Ag Scholarship
The Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism Agriculture Committee is once again offering a $4,200.00 scholarship to be awarded for the 2016/2017 school year to a student seeking post-secondary education in the field of agriculture and/or related fields. Applicants must live in or be attending school in a school district within Redwood County. The $4,200 scholarship is comprised of a $3,200 academic scholarship and a $1,000 AFA Leaders Conference fee. The selected recipient is required to attend this phenomenal leadership conference held in Kansas City, Missouri this fall. The scholarship is distributed at a maximum of $1,600 per semester. Any remaining balance of scholarship funds will be applied to following semesters if the recipient remains in good standing and in an agriculture or related area of study. The Redwood Area Chamber Agriculture Committee holds sole discretion of this award. The Redwood Area Chamber Agriculture Committee also reserves the right to award the potential of multiple AFA Scholarships and/or additional academic scholarships to additional applicants. New Ulm Area Sport Fishermen/EE Mecklenberg Environmental Scholarship
Students must be planning a career in the environmental field and intend to enroll in an accredited 2 or 4-year university or college. The scholarship check will
be disbursed after the recipient has completed the first quarter/semester of college in the fall and shows verification that he/she has earned a minimum 2.250
GPA during the first quarter/semester of college. Students must submit a high school transcript (GPA will be considered, but will not necessarily be a
determining factor). Students must submit at least two (no more than three) letters of recommendation. (At least one should be from your school and one
from an outside source.) Students must submit a resume showing any environmental work or activities (paid or volunteer) you have done. Students
must write an essay (no more than one page) telling us about yourself, why the environment is important to you, and what your future goals are.
Applications are due by March 24, 2017.
AGCO Scholarship for High School Students for Mechatronics & Welding
This scholarship is given to an individual who is a senior in High School and continuing their education in a technical field of study of Mechatronics or Welding Certificate or Diploma. The student will be attending the following college: Minnesota West Community and Technical College. The student must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The scholarship will award $4,000.00 per semester for Mechatronics or $2,000 per semester for Welding Certificate or Diploma.
Recipients of the scholarships agree that upon successfully completing their education they will work for AGCO for a minimum of 2 years. If the recipient chooses to leave AGCO within the 2 years he/she will reimburse the Scholarship amount to AGCO on a prorated basis.

Great Southwest United Scholarship
Three $2500 scholarships will be awarded – two scholarships for graduating seniors and one education scholarship for a college junior enrolled in an
education program. For eligibility, students must be a son, daughter, or under the guardianship of a current GSU member; must have a Cum GPA of 2.5 or above; and must have been accepted to a post-secondary institution. Applications are
available in Mrs. DeBerg’s office. Applications due by March 31, 2017.
Minnesota Women’s Golf Association
This scholarship is a $3,000 per year renewable for four consecutive years which totals $12,000, and it is made available to high school senior girls residing in Minnesota and planning to enroll in a four year college program the year the
application is submitted. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic rating, financial need, and school achievements, leadership, and activities.
Although skill or excellence in the game of golf in not a criterion, candidates shall demonstrate an interest or involvement in the sport. The applicant must have a
grade point average of 3.2 or above, and a copy of the submitted FAFSA form must be included showing the parents income level for the past year. This must
be included when the application is sent or the application will be considered incomplete. Applications are available in Mrs. DeBerg’s office. Application
deadline is March 31, 2017 by 4:30 PM
SFM Foundation Scholarship
The SFM Foundation provides scholarships to students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota, Iowa, or

Employees of First National Bank Scholarship
A $250 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who strives to be a person to excel in community and life and possesses those qualities associated with good
citizenship. The recipient must attend a college or vocational school the year following graduation from Springfield Public High School. The scholarship will be
awarded after completion of the first semester of college. Children of employee(s) will not be eligible for receipt of this scholarship.

Minnesota Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity
Available to male high school seniors who are planning to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. There will be at least three scholarships (ranging
from $250 to $1000) awarded next fall based on the individual’s quality of Academic Achievement, Leadership Experience, Athletic Involvement, and Career

Clean Air Choice Biodiesel Essay ScholarshipThe American Lung Association in Minnesota and the Minnesota Soybean
Research & Promotion Council are inviting any interested high school seniors to apply for the Clean Air Choice Biodiesel Essay Scholarship. The rules are
fairly simple: current high school seniors in the state of Minnesota with plans to attend postsecondary education are eligible to submit a brief (1,000 words or less) essay or a video (30 seconds to 3 minutes) on the topic of biodiesel. Two scholarships will be awarded. The first place essay writer will receive a
$1,000 scholarship; the second place essay writer will receive a $500 scholarship. All essays and application materials must be submitted to the
American Lung Association in Minnesota by 4:30pm on Friday, April 7, 2017. The application form and scholarship rules are attached and students can

Sylvester Schunk Educational Scholarship
~The Sylvester Schunk Educational Scholarship committee will award scholarships to high school or college students enrolled at an institution of higher education. To be a qualified applicant you need to have a Sanborn or Springfield address and be a full time student. The scholarship is open to any field; however, Sylvester’s priority is in the agricultural field.
~Two recommendations are required: One from a clergy member at your church and the other from your school counselor or principal. Please allow these people ample time to fill out recommendations.
~High School Applications are available from Mrs. DeBerg. College applications must be picked up at F & M Bank or are on-line on the F&M Bank website.
~Application deadline is April 13, 2017.
The Donald F. Reiner Scholarship
This scholarship is available to all seniors and graduates of Springfield Public High School. Scholastic achievement along with financial need will be the criteria for scholarship awards. This scholarship is renewable each year the student is in college. Applications will be accepted from

NU-Telecom / R.T. Rodenberg Memorial Scholarship
One $500 scholarship available to a graduate of Springfield Public School. Must have a 2.0 GPA, attend a post-secondary institution, and show involvement in extra-curricular activities for one or more years. Application due by April 19, 2017, to Mrs. DeBerg.
Jim and Lauretta Bean Scholarship
An applicant for the Jim and Loretta Bean Scholarship must be a graduate of Springfield Public High School who is beginning his/her junior year in college and
is majoring in the field of journalism or elementary education. Funds will be released at the beginning of the student’s third year in college and will be payable
to the college. Scholarships will be awarded according to the following criteria: 1) Grades during first two years of college, 2) Extra-curricular/community
activities, and 3) 100-word essay on why the scholarship is needed.
Letters of application should be sent to the Guidance Counselor at Springfield High School along with a transcript of grades, a description of extra-curricular
activities, and a short essay. The scholarship will be awarded at graduation ceremonies the same year. Application deadline is April 22, 2017.
Springfield Area Health Care Foundation
Scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to high school seniors or graduates who are planning to pursue a career in the health care field. Seniors or graduates from
Springfield, Red Rock Central, Cedar Mountain, Wabasso, and Comfrey high schools are eligible to apply. Applications are available in Mrs. DeBerg’s office or at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield. Applications must be completed
and postmarked by April 26, 2017.
JUNIORS: Minnesota Association of Townships:The Minnesota Association of Townships (MAT) is awarding up to six $1000 scholarships. Applicants must be a junior in public, private, home school, or
parochial high school who is planning to attend a college, university, or vocational school. Those applying must complete an application form and a written essay
discussing the topic of Sustainable Water: The Foundation of Minnesota’s Environment, Economy, Health, and Well-Being. The essay question for 2017 is: “Clean Water is a resource vital to all aspects of life in Minnesota from drinking water, to farming, industry, and recreation. Human activities can threaten the purity of water. Divisions arise as to what activities impede the goal of clean
water. What policies and practices can rural governments pursue that promotes the goal of clean water, which bring together, and does not divide, communities?”
Essays must be between 450-500 words, and must be typed and double-spaced.Applications are available in Mrs. DeBerg’s office.

Minnesota Valley Chapter 642, Mankato MN Aviation Scholarship Chapter 642 of the Experimental Aircraft Association is offering up to two, $1000 scholarships to assist high school students who have an interest in learning to fly
