TRANSCRIPT

As the New Elk year begins

I would like to say that I am

very excited to be starting

the new fraternal year,

2017-2018. We have an

awesome slate of officers -

some who are returning

and some who are new.

Please join me in congratu-

lating them and welcoming

them to their respective

offices and positions. Our

Officer Installation is

Sunday, April 2nd for all

who would like to come.

In recent months, we've

had many new members

join us, and it's creating a

vibrant energy in the lodge

which, I'm sure that you'll

agree, is very refreshing.

As Elks, we are all a part of

the same team, and we

share the same vision. I

look forward to a remarka-

ble year in which we will be

celebrating our 50th anni-

versary in September, and,

as we begin our year, our

lodge calendar is filling up

quickly with many

sensational events. Lodge

# 2370 is a lodge that is

very busy and is striving to

create new beginnings

during this coming Elk

year. There are many

things happening in April

alone for those who wish

to get involved.

I would also like to take

this opportunity to give

sincere thanks to all of the

outgoing officers and com-

mittee chairs for their

dedication and faithful

service to our lodge, to the

Central District, and to our

Order. I encourage you to

remain involved and to

assist the new officers and

committee chairs, in any

way possible, during this

time of transition.

As we install our new slate

of officers and welcome

our new committee chairs,

we pray that they are

ready, willing, able, and

eager to assume their

positions here at the lodge

and to make a difference

to all those we serve.

Remember that the key to

keeping our lodge moving

forward is our member-

ship! Membership, Mem-

bership, Membership, and

Elks leading the way! An

active membership is key

to any lodge remaining

open and doing the good

work that Elks do.

On April 22nd, East Bruns-

wick lodge will be hosting a

Special Needs Charity Ball

for two very special

Ambassadors from our

district. One of the ambas-

sadors, Zachary Nemeth,

was sponsored by our

lodge, and I am hoping

that members from this

lodge will make every

effort to attend this event.

This will be a black tie

affair.

Finally, please remember

that social media is for fun

and is a way for us to get

the word out about what

we do in our lodge and in

our communities.

God bless America and

God bless our troops and

keep them safe!

Fraternally,

ER Denise Brucato

SECRETARY’S MESSAGE: Joan Scaduto, PVP/Secretary

Happy Spring! It’s the start of a new Elk Year. I will have the full year end report next month as we are ex-

pecting to initiate five new members on March 26th.

Remember: Dues payments are now due. The key lock is changed as of April 1, 2017. If you did not renew your dues, you

will no longer have access to the lodge with your key card and you will not have membership privileges. Please send in your

dues as soon as possible. Please pay and if you’re having problems paying, please contact me or the Exalted Ruler and we

can arrange something.

Please also note that your membership card is given to you when you pay your dues for a reason- it shows that you are a

member of our lodge and that you are entitled to all its rights and privileges. You should keep this membership card with

you at all times and use it to gain admittance to the lodge when we are open. Too often, our bartenders find themselves

having to admit a member who rings the bell and we know that member has his/her card on them. This is very unfair to the

bartender on duty, especially when the bar is busy. You have your card – USE IT to open the front door. If the bartender is

busy, you may have to wait before being buzzed in.

Wishing you all a Happy Easter/Happy Passover!

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS: Joan Scaduto, Lodge Govt. Relations Chairperson ENF

Please give your Government Relations forms to me within one month from having your event. The report

is easy to do. I always have the forms with me at meetings. I will try to get a few in the box upstairs. The infor-

mation needed is as follows:

# of participants

# of Elks

# of helpers

# of Elk miles

#of helper miles

# of Elk hours

# of helper hours

Any cash or non-cash contributions.

If you have any questions about this, please contact me at 732-567-6671 or e-mail me at

[email protected] Thank you

ENF: Joan Scaduto, Lodge Chairperson for ENF

Our new Elk year starts again on April 1st, 2016. It’s time to think about your contributions to ENF. They are so easy to do. Just go on-line to www.elks.org and click on ENF and you can make your contribution immediately. Remember one pledge of $100 paid over 10 years is all it takes. And there are one-time donations that are always appreciated.

This past year, we received four grants from ENF – Gratitude Grant, Freedom Grant and the Bea-con Grant in the amount of $2,000 each and the Promise Grant in the amount of $2,500. We used the Gratitude Grant to send five high school students to the Peer Leadership Conference in February; we used the Freedom Grant to purchase brand new clothing for our veterans at Lyons Hospital and the Menlo Park Veterans Home; and the Beacon Grant was used to help support our Feed the Hungry program. The Promise Grant was used for a community-wide Halloween Party for our youth and special needs chil-dren, which was extremely successful.

We will apply for these Grants again this year.

Thanks again for your support to ENF. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at 732-567-6671 or email me at [email protected]

more Welcome Home Kits as soon as we receive

them. We will keep all of the receipts and submit

them to ENVSCC for reimbursement. We are go-

ing to Menlo Park to play bingo on March 28th

and will talk with George about the items for the

Welcome Home Kits. (On a personal note, I want

to thank Colleen Murphy & Andrea Evans for

stepping up to represent these committees in our

lodge in my absence. I appreciate your support

more than I can say. Annie Brucato)

It’s also that time of year when we come out to

recognize our public servants as Public Servant

Appreciation Week rolls in, for their outstanding

service to our community in our Nite of Blues fea-

money for our Veterans. Tell your friends, come

out, enjoy & help others because that’s how East
