College of Education, Hoshiarpur is going to organize one day annual Conference sponsored by ICCR on the theme Quality Research: Issues & Challenges” on December 24, 2015(Thursday). We invite teacher educators, research scholars as delegates from various disciplines to participate and present papers related to the theme or sub themes. Their scholarly vision on the theme shall make our endeavor a grand success.

About the DAV College of Education, Hoshiarpur.D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur, is one of the oldest and prestigious institute of Teacher Education in India. It started its onerous journey in the year 1966 and has the honour to be recognized by N.C.T.E. and UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(b). The College is covered under 95% Grant-in-Aid Scheme by Pb. Govt. and is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. The College has produced highest number of Educationist, Educational Administrators, Principals and Teacher Educators in the northern region.

About ICCR Indian Council of Contemporary Researchers was constituted under the aegis of Devki Foundation (Regd.) with the sole purpose of promotion of research in various fields. During the one year of its existence ICCR has promoted four working research groups under its patronisation which are Working Group for Research in Biodiversity of PunjabWorking Group for Research in Art, Culture and Heritage of PunjabWorking Group for Research in International Migration from PunjabWorking Group for Research in Pollution in PunjabAll these groups are doing commendable research in their respective fields.The other activities of ICCR are•Organising Conferences, Seminars, Symposia and Workshops etc.

About the ConferenceAn accessible and high quality higher education system is imperative for nation’s economic progress as it enables and enhances the development for better and sustainable future. Research contributes more than anything else in ensuring excellence in institutions of higher education. But research can do wonders only if it is a quality research. Although there has been a remarkable growth of educational research in India during the last few decades yet quantitative expansion is accompanied by qualitative deterioration. To achieve the outcome of enhanced quality at all levels of education it is pertinent to focus the attention on quality and excellence of research. Therefore, quality in teaching learning process, institutional environment, innovative practices and teacher improvement have to be taken into account for the enhancement of quality. A conducive environment along with adequate financial support and incentives has to be accorded for the growth and development of quality research and academic excellence.Thus, ICCR is organising its second national level conference on the theme of ‘Quality Research: Issues and Challenges’. The objective of the conference is to identify the main fields of research that the contemporary researchers are engaged in and then to finance the Research Projects and Field Studies in the selected fields. Research Scholars from various disciplines are welcome to participate in the conference and present their research papers on any theme of contemporary relevance for India. The presented papers will be peer reviewed and selected papers will be published in a book/journal with ISBN/ISSN.
