    1.ViewPowerOverview

    1.1. Introduction

    ViewPower is UPS management software which is perfect for home users and

    enterprises. It canmonitor andmange from one tomultiple UPSs in a networked

    environment,eitherLANorINTERNET.Itcannotonlypreventdatalossfrompower

    outageandsafelyshutdownsystems,butalsostoreprogrammingdataandscheduled

    shutdownUPSs.

    1.2. Structure

    ViewPowerincludesViewPowerservice,GUI(userinterface)andViewPowericon.

    ViewPowerserviceisthecoreofViewPowersoftware.Itsasystemprogramrunningin

    thebackend.ItwillcommunicatewithUPS,recordevent,notifyuserswithevents,and

    executecommandaccordingtousersrequest.

    GUI is operated in Browser and communicatedwith backend program. Users can

    monitorUPSsforrealtimestatus,informationandmodifyUPSsettingparametersvia

    GUI.

    ViewPowericonismanagingtoolforViewPowersoftware.WhenViewPowerisactivated,

    thereisanorangeplugiconlocatedintaskbar.Italsowilldisplaypopupdialogfor

    currentUPSstatus.

    NOTE1:TrayicononlyexistsunderWindowsOS.

    windowsOS,thesoftwarecantbeoperated.

    2.4. SoftwareUninstall

    Note:Beforeuninstallsoftware,youmuststopallsoftwareprogramsfirstandthenlog

    inasAdministrator!Otherwiseitcan'tbeuninstalledcompletely.

    Please chooseStart>>All Programs>>Viewpower>>Uninstall. Then follow the

    onscreeninstructiontouninstallthesoftware.

    successfullysenttospecificrecipients,itwillpopupasuccessfulmessageon

    operatedPC.Otherwise,itwillpopupafailuredialogtoindicatethereisan

    2.Computeralarm:Computerwillbeeptoremindusersaftereventsoccur.This

    functionisonlyavailableforWindowsOS.

    4.Broadcast:ItwillsendtheeventmessagetoallPCswithsoftwareinstalledin

    ofremotesystemsinblankcolumnandclickAddbuttontoaddintolist.

    l UPSshutdownwhilesystemshutdown:Whenclickthecheckbox,monitored

    UPSwillshutdownafterlocalsystemshutsdown.TheUPSshutdowntimewill

    belaterthansystemcompleteshutdowntime.Thedefaultsettingisclicked.But

    userscanchoosetoshutdownthesystemwithoutshuttingdownthemonitored

    UPS.

    Poweroffoption:Selectingpoweroffmethodforaboveshutdownsystem.

    l Shutdown:Whenclickingthecheckbox, theselectedsystemwill shutdown. The

    defaultsettingisclicked.

    l Sleepmode:When clicking the checkbox, selected systemwill suspend the

    systeminsteadofanormalshutdown.Butthisfunctionisonlysupportedby

    Windows2000orhigheronsupportedhardware.

    Delay time to shutdown system: Enter the delay time to shut down the

    operatingsystem.Thevaluerangeisfrom1to99minutes.

    Onshutdownexecutefile:Enterthepathofexecutefile.

    WarningDialogSetting:

    l Popup dialog before shutdown: Timer setting for popup warning dialog

    displayed in local PC. LocalPCwillpopupawarningdialogbeforesystem

    startstoshutdown.Therangeisfrom1to999seconds.

    l Warning dialog interval: Reminding dialog interval setting. This setting also

    appliesforUPSshutdownbecauseofpowerfailure.Therangeisfrom1to999

    seconds.

    4.2.2.RemoteShutdown

    ThisconfigurationistoremoteshutdownspecificPCswhicharepoweredbymonitored

    UPS.

    backup time setting for P1, battery number setting, voltage and frequency range
