With the blessings and vision of P.P. Tyagvallabh swamiji, support and

encouragement of Director Dr. J N Shah, Principal Dr. G. D. Acharya and Head

of Department Asst. Prof. Dhaval Nimavat we, at Atmiya Institute of

Technology & Science, Rajkot, Gujarat had arranged ‘A Seminar on Cloud

Computing by International Faculty Dr. Anu Gokhale’.

As directed by Hon. V. C. Sir, University arranged an expert talk of Dr.

Anuradha Gokhle on following topics at Atmiya Institute of Technology &

Science on 07-July-2017.

One of international faculty Dr. Anuradha Gokhle, Professor, Department

of Technology, Illinois State University who is the Fulbright Specialist come to

Gujarat Technological University under Fulbright Specialist Program grant of

USIEF.

Objectives

Brief overview of mobile, cloud computing and data mining algorithms.

Interact with the Fulbright expert and discuss possible collaboration on

research and professional activities.

Expert talk on computer and network security.




Resource Person:

Dr. Anu A. Gokhale has completed twenty-five years of university

teaching and is currently a professor and coordinator of the computer

systems technology program at Illinois State University. She is named

Fulbright Distinguished Chair at the University of Pernambuco in Recife,

Brazil, 2016-17; was a Faculty Fellow in Israel, summer 2017; was a

Visiting Professor at Shandong University in Jinan, China, spring 2017; is a

Fulbright Specialist at Gujarat Technological University in Ahmedabad,

India; and was a Fulbright Scholar to IIT-Mumbai and Manipal Institute of

Technology, India in 2002.

Dr. Gokhale has been honored with the 2011 University Outstanding

Researcher Award, and serves as Associate Director of the Center for

Applied Information Systems and Technology. Originally from India, she

has a master’s degree in physics‒electronics from the College of William &




Mary, and a doctorate from Iowa State University. Dr. Gokhale presents and

publishes her peer reviewed research, and pursues multi-year projects funded

by agencies like the US Department of Education, US Department of State,

and National Science Foundation. The current NSF funded project is in

Computing Education for the 21st century.

Dr. Gokhale recently authored a second edition of her book

Introduction to Telecommunications, which also has an international edition

in Chinese. She has been an invited keynote speaker at various conferences

like the 2017 International Conference on Cloud Computing and Big Data

Analytics in Chengdu, China; 2016 International Conference on Computer

and Information Systems in Bangkok, Thailand; 2015 7th International

Conference on Information Technology held in Amman, Jordan; 2014

International Conference on Control, Robotics, and Cybernetics in

Singapore; 2013 International Conference on Advanced Computer

Theory and Engineering in Maldives; 2012 International Conference on e-

Education, e-Learning, e-Business and e-Technology in Mumbai, India; 2011

3rd International Conference on Information and Multimedia Technology in

Dubai; and 2010 International Conference on Education, Technology and

Computer in Shanghai.

She consults for businesses and industries and has delivered multiple

workshops and training seminars in computing, information systems and

management. Dr. Gokhale is an active volunteer in IEEE having served in

various roles like R4 Educational Activities Chair, Women in Engineering

Coordinator, Conference Chair of International Electro / Information

Technology 2010 Conference, and MGA representative to the Educational




Activities Board. Her service was honoured with the IEEE Third Millennium

Medal.
