2.5 Diesel Truck Rules

This Diesel class is designed for pickup trucks with a wide variety of performance upgrades.

Weight: 2.5 trucks is 8000lb maximum with driver.

Ballast:

No front hanging weights are allowed. (Any questions, ask tech officials). Snow plow brackets are permitted, but no part of the bracket may be in front of the bumper. Factor front bumpers are required, must be mounted in stock location. If additional weight is added it must be placed securely in the bed.

Batteries:

The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.

Body:

The body must be the OEM truck body including the full bed floor. All body components must have been available on a factory produced pickup truck (no extended box sides). The body must retain full sheet metal. Metal aftermarket hoods are permitted. Fiberglass hoods and roll pans are permitted. All fiberglass hoods must be shielded on the underneath side with sheet metal or aluminum skin a minimum of .060 thick. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the truck is hooked to the sled. The complete OEM firewall and complete OEM floor pan is mandatory. A factory installed pickup bed or commercial style aftermarket bed must be installed.

Brakes:

Four wheel hydraulic functional brakes are mandatory.

Chassis:

The full OEM chassis frame rails are mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. Engine swaps are acceptable from one brand of truck to another, the engine must fit the stock engine compartment, behind the stock radiator with no modifications to the firewall of the cab. Wheel tubs, back half conversions, tube chassis, etc. are prohibited.

Cooling System:

Radiators must be in stock location and be of at least stock size.

Driveline:

An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been an option on a one tone or smaller pickup.

Engine:

The engine block must have been available as a factory option on a one ton or smaller pickup truck. Cubic inch limit of 444CI. Blocks must circulate coolant freely. No hard filled blocks. Water pumps may be factory or electric powered. All factory belt driven accessories, excluding the air conditioning compressor, must be retained and powered via the crankshaft by a standard serpentine or “V” belt. Electric cooling fans are permitted.

Exhaust:

All trucks must be equipped to direct exhaust upward and must exit rearward of the drivers compartment. Two 3/8 diameter bolts must be installed through exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within 1 inch of each other, as close to the turbo as possible.

Fuel:

The fuel must be pump #1,#2 diesel or Soy/Biodiesel. Fuel must be commercially available.

Fuel Injection Pump:

The fuel injection pump is limited to cylinder number specific (i.e. 6 cylinder pump on a 6 cylinder motor). Dual HPOPs are permitted. No Sigma or 12 cylinder pumps allowed.

Harmonic Balancer:

All engines turning more than 4500 RPM must be equipped with a harmonic balancer or dampener meeting SFI Sec 18.1

Turbocharger:

Turbo must be a true 2.5 charger. No clipped wheels or step down covers. A .250 inch MWE groove maximum. Inducer bore must be non-removable. All air must go through 2.5 inducer bore or MWE groove. The wheel must protrude into the 2.5 bore 1/8”. Turbo will be checked with a 2.550”plug. The driver will be responsible for making compressor wheel and bore accessible for Tech officials to measure bore and inspect compressor wheel. Modified stock turbochargers will be allowed and be checked with the same 2.550”plug.

Water Injection:

Water injection is prohibited. All system components must be removed from truck.

Hitch:

The hitch must be a receiver-style hitch. Reinforcements are permitted. Reinforcements must not extend forward of the center line of the rear axle and must remain inside the frame rails. The hooking

point must be the rear most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. Bumper may be notched or removed. The hitch height from the ground may not exceed 26 inches. The hooking point must have a minimum of 44 inches from the center of the rear axle, to the end of the hole where the hook touches metal to be pulled from, this is the hooking point. No “drawbar style” receiver hitches will be allowed.

Intercoolers:

Factory style or after-market air-to-air coolers allowed installed in factory intercooler location. No types of water to air air coolers or spray bars allowed. No individual runner intake manifolds. (ex. ZZ Custom).

Interior:

A complete interior, including factory dashboard, door panels, headliner, etc. is mandatory. Two matching front seats are mandatory. After-market seats are permitted, they must be fully upholstered. All factory controls lights, windows, signals, wipers, etc. must be retained and in working order. The use of hand-throttles is prohibited. After market gauges are allowed.

Kill Switches:

All trucks are required to have a kill switch located on the back of the truck, located near the hooking point. On trucks with an electric injection fuel pump it must have an electric shut off or disconnect for the injection pump on the back of the truck. It is recommended to have an air shut off on all trucks. Kill switch failure will result in disqualification.

Nitrous Oxide:

Nitrous Oxide is prohibited. No other oxygen extenders are allowed. All system components must be removed from the truck.

Propane:

Propane is prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck

Rear Axle:

Non OEM rear-end housings are prohibited. The rear end housings must have been for a one tone or smaller pickup truck. Rear axle bolts must be covered with a cap or shield.

Safety Equipment:

All drivers must wear a helmet, and a SFI 3.2a approved fire jacket and long pants, not necessarily fire suit pants. All visible u-joints must be shielded, along with axle bolts. All trucks will have a minimum of a 2lb fire extinguisher mounted securely inside the truck within the drivers reach.

Steering:

The vehicle must retain full, original OEM steering gear. The vehicle must retain the original OEM power assistance, if it was so equipped. Additional stabilizers are permitted. Non OEM power assist methods are prohibited.

Street Equipment:

Complete headlight and taillights assemblies are mandatory and must be operative. Compete OEM windshield and all other windows are mandatory. Windows must be able to operate per factory specifications; they must open and close via electrical or mechanical means.

Suspension-Rear:

A OEM style suspension is mandatory. Traction bars and devices are permitted, they must be bolt on only, and welds are permitted for attachment to the frame or axle housing. Control arms may be strengthened or replaced, providing all original mounting points are retained and used. Sway bars, lower tie bars, limit straps, and camber kits are permitted. The rear suspension may be blocked solid. The truck must be fully operational with the blocks removed. Air bag spring assist and air shocks are prohibited.

Tires:

The tires must be DOT street tires. Cut tires are prohibited. Maximum 35”x12.50” tires allowed or metric equivalent. Dual rear tires allowed only on factory equipped dually trucks. Rear dual tires must be factory equipped size.

Transfer Case:

Non OEM transfer cases are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one ton or smaller pickup truck.

Transmission Automatic:

Non OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Any non OEM floor mounted automatic shifter must be equipped with a spring loaded positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put into reverse. A functional neutral safety switch is mandatory. Vehicle must not start in gear. All transmission lines must be metallic or high pressure type hose. All vehicles using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a flex plate meeting SFI Spec 29.1 A blow proof transmission blanket is recommended.

Transmission Manual:

Non OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket internal components are permitted. A clutch meeting minimum SFI Spec 1.1 or 2.1 is mandatory on all engines. All manual transmission must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited. All transmission or clutch pedals will have a safety interlock switch so that vehicle will not start in gear. A blow proof transmission blanket is recommended.

Wheelbase:

The vehicle must retain the original factory wheel base and track width. Cab and chassis trucks may not exceed 172 inch center to center of axles. Front dual wheel spacers may be used only with accompanying positive-offset dually style wheels.

4 Wheel and 2 Wheel Drive Trucks

1) Must have a valid drivers license to compete. No diesel trucks allowed.2) Trucks must be street legal and licensed.3) 6800lb is the weight limit including the driver.4) Trucks must have original frame and wheelbase. Lift kit allowed. No alterations to the frame,

no chains, no blocking of suspension. Clamping of springs allowed. Bolt on traction/ladder bars or homemade bars allowed in rear only.

5) Dual wheels allowed on 2 wheel drive only.6) Truck drive shaft must have safety loop in front and back of truck.7) Hitch height 26 in must pull from bumper. Clevis with 3 in X 3.50 in. opening, pin must be

clipped. Reese hitch acceptable. Hitch holes will be checked.8) All weights or ballast must be in box.9) Front of hitch should be even with the back of the box truck. Clevis front should be farthest

point on the rear of the truck with no mounting in front of the rear axle. No custom truck pulling hitches permitted.

10) No forced air induction systems allowed. No competition built engines or radical cams.11) Headers are allowed.12) Must be able to pull 15 inches of vacuum from intake manifold port. 1/8inch hose. 800rpm13) Officials have the right to reject any entry at any time.14) Tech inspector has the right to recheck any truck at any time. Any person caught cheating will

be disqualified for that event by tech inspector. Any Hot rodding anywhere on the grounds will result in automatic disqualification and from any future participation at the event.

Modified Tractor Rules 03/05/2017

1) Tractors must have a wide front end. Front tires must track within the rear tires.2) Tractor chassis is limited to 14 feet from the center of the rear axle to forward most point, which

includes the weights. To be measured by (2) tech inspectors by ?plumbing a line? On flat surface and no variance is allowed. Placement of weights noted on certification sticker.

3) All frames are to be rigid with no pivot points (IE:trick hitches)4) Modified tractors with frame bolted transmission shall also be bolted to axle housing to prevent

splitting of tractor ag rear ends. Must be of sufficient strength to support the weight of the tractor in the heaviest class being entered with bolts removed from plate of transmission or rear end.

5) Seatbelts or seat side rails must be used.6) Working backup lights in view of driver and sled operator required.7) Tractors must have 6” fender/shield over tires.8) Tip-over bars must meet NTPA requirements.9) Roll cages must be made out of 2”x.095cm chrome molly or 2”x.120 mild steel and will be sonic

tested to meet the NTL spec .120 SFI or .095cm or SFI certified.10) All open bodied modified vehicles must have a roll cage equipped with lap belt and 5pt harness.

Engine:

1) Engine couplers and flex plates or starter gears need to be covered with a 1/4” steel or 3/8” aluminum.

2) Multiple alcohol injection, supercharged or turbine engine tractors must designate which engine is being used per event.

3) No V12 engines allowed.4) Turbine engines limited up to T53-L13.5) V8 motors limited to 650 cubic inch alcohol injection; 575 cubic in supercharged with an 871

supercharger or 1100 cubic in naturally aspirated single or multiple engines on carburetor and to run on pump gasoline not to exceed 93 octane.

6) 15% overdrive limit on blowers at 6500lb vehicles and 15% overdrive limit for hemi engines.7) No dual ignition systems allowed, plug heads.8) Turbine shielding 3/8” steel 360 degrees, 5” before and 10” after turbine hot section.9) Kill switches are mandatory.10) Supercharged motors limited to maximum 871 CFM unit. Allow turbo chargers on automotive

V8 type. Screw blowers prohibited. 11) Supercharger drive components must be shrouded on top and sides. Shield must be wider than

belt drive and securely mounted. Shield must be wider than all components: idler, belt, pulleys and extend beyond bottom pulley.

12) Supercharger restraint system required. Subject to tech inspection approval. 13) Exhaust must exit vertical plus or minus 10 degrees.14) Engine shields have a ¼”steel shield 1” wide, 360 degrees around harmonic balancer, water

pump may be used, SFI excluded. Must have straps ¼” x 1” that will keep harmonic balancer from working forward.

15) OEM style HEADS cast iron or aluminum with stock intake and exhaust runner placement and valve angles not to be more than 2 degrees out of stock position.

Drive:1) Automatic transmissions must have approved blanket(s) from back of block to tail shaft. No

steel shielding allowed. SFI flex plate recommended.2) Tractors must have automatic reverse lockout.3) Tractors must have functional return springs-throttle link return to close.4) U-joints and drive shafts shielded 360 degrees the total length. (5/16” STL 3/8”Alum.)5) Tractor must have good working brakes.6) Engines rated 1500 horsepower or less to have a minimum of four cables ¼ inch in

diameter or larger. Cables must go on outside of containment shield and be mounted 90 degrees of each other.

7) Tractor Skid Plates- Front axle skid plates specs for all tractor classes.A. Skid Plate must be mounted inline with each frame rail and extend from center of

the front axle forward (on both sides) equal in strength to frame rail material. Skid Plate surface to be a minimum of 4 inches wide x 12 inches long with a minimum of 6 inch curve when measured from the front most part of rolled edge.

B. Front axle support to be made of 2.00” x .095” chrome molly tubing or 2.00” x .120” mild steel tubing or same material as tractor frame rails. Front axle support should connect to each frame rail inline and extend toward front of tractor. Front skid/front axle support should have radius to prevent digging into track. Front axle support should be strong enough to support front end weight of tractor. Support should be maximum of 4 inches ground clearance.

*** Skid plate must be able to support the weight of the front end when checked by jack. Maximum of 4 inch ground clearance.

Tires:

1) Traction tires are limited to a maximum 30.5 x 32. No radial drive tires allowed.

Hitch:

1) All vehicles to comply with 20” maximum drawbar height restrictions. Drawbar heights to be checked before each hook by designated individuals.

Miscellaneous:

1) Helmets and single layer Nomex fire suits (pants/jackets) are required. Fire shorts or leather boots, head socks and fire gloves are suggested.

**If no scale at an event, vehicles will run at certified weight and must be checked by tech official before pulling. Every competitor will receive a copy of certification on all pulling vehicles.**

Any rules or regulations that form a gray area or not previously stated are subject to be defined or changed by the MTTPA.

OUTLAW DIESEL RULESThe Outlaw Diesel Class is a class designed specifically for street driven trucks that do not meet stock/street diesel rules, with no rules or regulations regarding turbocharger size, injectables or fuel system components. Valid DOT Registration and License plates are mandatory. 2wd or 4wd Allowed. Trucks may be hauled to the event.

Weight: 8,000lbs with Driver. Trucks weighing less than 8,000lbs are permitted to add additional ballast to meet the 8,000lb max weight. Any additional ballast must be securely fastened in the bed of the truck. No weight boxes, weight bars or hanging ballast permitted.

Trucks weighing in factory over 8,000lbs (I.E Dually and New Ford Superduty) are allowed to run with a “grace” of up to 9,000lbs. However no additional weight ballast is permitted. Any final decisions rest with the tech official(s). Any truck weighing over 8,000lbs is also subject to run a 24” Hitch Height. See Hitch Rules.

Chassis: The OEM chassis is mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs ,back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc. are prohibited.

Cooling System: Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least factory size for the specific vehicle

Driver Credentials: All drivers must have a valid state driver’s license.

Driveline: An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pickup. Driveshaft loops and shields are not mandatory but recommended. If truck is not equipped with Driveshaft Loops and shields, any Driveshaft exposed below the frame of the truck is required to have a chain or minimum 1” wide strap loop for a safety catch.

Driver Restraint System: The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.

Engine: The engine is limited to an OEM make-specific compression ignition engine available as an option in a 1 ton or smaller pickup. Engine does not need to be OEM Make Specific to Chassis (I.E Cummins in a Ford Chassis is allowed). Filled Blocks are prohibited per rules of being a street driven truck. Aftermarket Cylinder Heads are allowed.

Exhaust: All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward. The exhaust must exit rearward of the driver's compartment. Stacks exiting through the hood or fender-well are prohibited. If the muffler or

catalytic converter have been changed from stock, two 3/8”” within one inch of each other as close to the turbo as is practical is required.

Fire extinguishing system: A fire extinguisher is recommended. A fire extinguisher system is permitted.

Fuel: The fuel must be Pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/biodiesel fuel is permitted. Off-road diesel fuel is prohibited.

Injectables: Nitrous Oxide, Propane Injection, and Water Methanol are permitted. Nitrous Oxide/Propane Bottles Must be Securely Fastened in the BED of the truck. Mounting of pressurized bottles in Engine bay or Drivers Compartment are prohibited.

Intake: Aftermarket Intake Manifolds and Turbocharger Intakes are permitted. Air Filters are not required. Intake piping to turbocharger may not extend outside of the OEM Body.

Intercooler: Air to Air Intercoolers and Factory equipped Air to water Intercoolers are permitted on 6.7 Powerstroke Diesel. Intercooler must be in factory location. If the truck did not come factory intercooled the Intercooler must be mounted in front of the radiator, and behind the grille.

Fuel Injection Pump: The use of multiple high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps is permitted. The use of multiple HPOP’s in Ford Powerstroke Diesels is also permitted. Mechanical Injection Pumps are recommended to have a mechanical fuel shut off but not required.

Fuel System: The OEM fuel tank is mandatory and must be used. Racing fuel cells are prohibited and must be removed from the vehicle.

Harmonic Balancer: All engines turning 4500RPM and higher must be equipped with a harmonic balancer or damper meeting SFI 18.1

Hitch: The hitch must be a “Reese Style” receiver-hitch, no drawbar type hitches allowed. Reinforcements are permitted. Reinforcements must not extend forward of the centerline of the rear axle or to the axle housing itself. Trick hitches are prohibited. The hooking point must be the rear-most point on the vehicle and must be rearward of the stock location of the tailgate. The hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. Bumpers or rollpans can be notched. The hitch’s height from the ground may not exceed-

24” on units over 8,000lbs.

26” on units 8,000lbs or less.

2wd Units are permitted to run a 30” Hitch Height. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.750-inch inside diameter opening for the sled hook. The hooking point will be measured to the center of the clevis loop.

Interior: A complete interior, including factory dashboard, door panels, Carpet/Rubber Floor, headliner, etc. is mandatory. Two matching front seats are mandatory. Aftermarket seats are permitted; they must be fully upholstered. All factory controls (lights, signals, horn, windows, etc) must be retained and be operative. The use of hand-throttle controls is prohibited.

Rear End: Non-OEM rear end housings are prohibited. It must have been an option on a one ton or smaller pickup. Rear-axle bolts must be covered by a cap or shield.

Steering: The vehicle must retain the full, original OEM steering gear. The vehicle must retain the original OEM powersteering assistance, if it was so equipped. Additional stabilizers are permitted. Non OEM power assist methods are prohibited.

Street Equipment: Complete headlight and taillight assemblies are mandatory and must be operative. Complete OEM Glass windshield and windows are mandatory. Windows must be operative per factory specifications that is they must open and close via OEM electrical or mechanical means.

Suspension - Front: The upper mounting point for strut assemblies must be in the factory location. Adjustable caster/camber pillowball mounts are permitted. The lower control arm may be strengthened provided factory-mounting points to chassis are maintained. The lower mounting point for the strut assembly may be modified for improved caster or camber. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, aftermarket tie rods and limit straps are permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted. Final decisions rest with the Tech official. Lift kits are permitted.

Suspension - Rear: An OEM-style suspension is mandatory. Lowering or raising the vehicle height with suspension modifications is permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted; they must be bolt on only; welds are permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing. All OEM suspension mounting points and leaf springs must be retained and used. Sway bars, limit straps and camper kits are permitted. The rear suspension MUST maintain a minimum compression shock travel of one inch; suspension compression stops must be adjustable.

All rear suspensions must use at least one working shock absorber per wheel. Airbag spring assistance is permitted; airbag compressors MUST BE disconnected!

Tires: The tires must be DOT street approved tires. Cut/Bar tires are prohibited. Dual rear tires can only be run on factory equipped dually trucks with accompanying dually bed. Factory dually trucks will be limited to the factory OEM size tire only.

Tow Vehicles: Tow vehicles are prohibited. The truck must drive to staging area and onto the track under its own power.

Transfer Case: Non-OEM transfer cases are prohibited. The transfer case must have been ano ption on a one ton or smaller pickup truck.

Transmission - Automatic: Non-OEM transmissions are prohibited. Aftermarket torque converters, valve bodies and internal components are permitted. Transmission brakes are prohibited. Any non-OEM floor –mounted automatic transmission shifter must be equipped with a spring loaded positive reverse lockout device to prevent the shifter from accidentally being put into reverse gear. A functional neutral safety switch is mandatory. All transmission lines must be metallic or high-pressure-type hose. All vehicles with engines running 4500RPM or more and using an automatic transmission must be equipped with a transmission shield meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and must be labeled accordingly. A blanket-type shield is permitted; it must be appropriately labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1 and it must extend from the rear of the block to the front of tail housing with a minimum of six inch overlap where it is fastened. All non blanket type shields must incorporate two (or one, per manufacturer’s instructions) 3/4inch by 1/8inch straps that bolt to the shield on each side and pass under the transmission pan unless the transmission pan is labeled as meeting SFI Spec 4.1. A truck may be converted to a manual transmission from an automatic using the appropriate OEM Specific transmission for that truck (IE Ford 7.3 to a ZF-6 Manual from a 4R100 Automatic). Aftermarket internal components are permitted. A clutch meeting minimum SFI Spec1.1 or 1.2 is mandatory on all vehicles with engines running 4500RPM or more. All manual transmissions must be clutch assisted. Sequential shifters are prohibited. All vehicles with engines running 4500RPM or more and equipped with a manual transmission must have a flywheel shield labeled as meeting minimum SFI Spec 6.3 or greater. Applications for which an SFI Spec flywheel shield is not available may use a properly attached SFI 4.1 or 4.2 blanket that completely covers the bellhousing; it must be attached to the block and extend rearward to the transmission with a minimum 6” overlap where it is fastened.

Turbocharger: You may utilize the factory turbocharger, or any aftermarket turbocharger in a single or sequential configuration. Any/all turbochargers and affixed piping must fit under the hood of the truck and may not extend outside of the factory body work. Cowl hoods are allowed to help encase any aftermarket components.

1) Must have a valid drivers license to compete with back bumper. No diesel trucks allowed in this event.

2) Trucks must have original frame and wheelbase. Lift kit allowed. No alterations to the frame and no chains. Clamping of springs allowed. Bolt on traction/ladder bars or homemade bars allowed in rear only.

3) Trucks must have complete exhaust systems (headers or cast manifolds) with completely baffled mufflers that extend past rear of trucks cab. No inner tube shielding. Maximum diameter will not exceed three inches. Cast exhaust must be reduced within 30 inches of manifold outlet. Fender well headers will be allowed with header tubing before collector being a maximum of 1 7/8 inch outer diameter. Maximum of two collectors and outlets per truck allowed.

4) The weight limit is 6500lbs and all weights may be on a weight bracket on front of truck or in truck box. No weights in the cab. If weights found elsewhere will be disqualified and forfeit money.

5) At least 1 inch of travel on suspension stops with weights on will be measured on scale.6) No dual wheels, cut or grooved tires, chains, no fluid in tires allowed. DOT tires only.7) Face plate on front of bracket allowed but cannot exceed 60 inches from centerline of front axle.

Weights must be secured during pull. No other equipment may be mounted on weight bar.8) Truck must have all body components and mandatory factory reverse light.9) Truck drive shaft must have safety loop in front and back of truck.10) Cast iron intake manifold only and no dominators carburetors, stock water pump and fan. If

using electric fan need pulley system. No more than 1” in height factory spacer allowed. OEM heads only.

11) Hitch height 26 in. must pull from bumper. Clevis with 3 in. X 3.50 in. opening, pin must be clipped. Reese hitch acceptable. Hitch holes will be checked.

12) Trucks must run a manufactured stock bumper on front of truck. 13) Front of hitch should be even with the back of the box truck. Clevis front should be farthest

point on the rear of the truck with no mounting in front of the rear axle.14) Pressurized tanks can only be allowed for use as a primary fuel source.15) All driveline U-joints will have 360 degree shield of ¼ inch aluminum or 1/8 inch steel minimum.

All U-joint shields must be a minimum of 3 inches wide and have a maximum of 2 inch clearance from the joint. Shields must cover the entire U-joint in order to restrain broken parts.

16) Kill switches are mandatory.17) Helmets and fire jackets are required. Seatbelts and/or harness must be worn.18) **Additions to the Pro Gas Rules for 2017** 19) All trucks following the BTPA Open Stock rules (exception, dry sump oil system not allowed) are

STREET DIESEL RULES

The Stock class is designed for daily-driven, on the road pickup trucks (full bodied diesel pickup trucks) Valid DOT registration and license plates are mandatory. The vehicle may be two or four wheel drive.

Weight: 8000lbs maximum. Weight is with driver.

REGULATIONS:

Ballast: Ballast is permitted. Hanging front weights are prohibited. Ballast may be added in the bed of the truck. If used, ballast must be securely fastened to the bed. Final decisions rest with the Technical Department.

Batteries: The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.

Body: The body must be the OEM truck body, including the full bed floor. The body must retain full sheet metal. Metal after-market hoods are permitted. Fiberglass is prohibited. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled. The complete OEM firewall and OEM floor pan is mandatory.

Brakes: Four wheel hydraulic brakes are mandatory.

Chassis: The OEM chassis is mandatory. The engine must be in the OEM location for the body used. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc are prohibited.

Cooling System: Radiators must be in the stock location and be of at least stock size.

Credentials: All drivers must have a valid state drivers license.

Driveline: An OEM transmission and transfer case are mandatory. They must have been and option on a one-ton or smaller pickup.

Driver Restraint System: The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.

Engine: The engine is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM make-specific compression ignition engine.

Exhaust: All vehicles must be equipped to direct exhaust upward. The exhaust must exit rearward of the driver's compartment. Stacks exiting through the hood or fender well are prohibited. If the muffler or catalytic converter have been changed from stock, two 3/8 inch within one inch of each other as close to the turbo as is practical.

Fire extinguishing system: A fire extinguisher is recommended. A fire extinguisher system is permitted.

Fuel: The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/bio diesel fuel is permitted. Off-road diesel fuel is prohibited. NITROUS OXIDE is prohibited along with other oxygen extenders as well as the use of PROPANE is also prohibited. All system components must be removed from the truck.
