the requirements of the script and concept art. These locations can either be rented as field production locations, or re-recreated in studio depending on budgets and location availability. If the locations are digital or animated, we begin creating them at this time. Location images or style frames, whether live action or animated will be provided to you for review and input. If we are choosing a live action location, then an in-person scout/pre-visualization meeting will be done at the preferred locations.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULING & BUDGETINGOnce all phases of pre-production are finished, detailed budgets and schedules are put together for the remainder of the project. This includes locking locations and any additional production crew required.

SET DESIGN & ART DIRECTIONWe now begin purchasing or creating props that we will use to decorate the location and create the world that we want. Depeding on the location, this can be done physically or digitally. For example, if we are filming at a house in the suburbs, we may want to decorate it a certain way to create a certain style. If, on the other hand, we are shooting in the studio in front of the green screen, then we would create that scene digitally.

PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHYThis is when we begin filming the live action scripted piece. Evolve Media assembles a production team that fits the projects scope and creative requirements. Sometimes our client’s will participate in the choosing some of the team from our crew list. Our team films on the best production gear in the world, including the RED Epic camera and the ARRI Alexa. These cameras have been used to film movies such as The Hobbit, Skyfall, and The Life of Pi.

We also begin to animate the characters within their worlds that have been created. This phase of the production could also be considered post, but if there is no principal photography then it is considered the poroduction phase of the project. Animatics, which are short animation samples of the video are provided to you for review before we begin the full animation process. This way, you can provide feedback regarding the characters movement and action. Evolve Media normally provides many animatics for feedback so that once we begin animating the entire piece, we will have a clear direction and all be on the same page.
