Paper Piecing (EPP). This quilt-along lasts 5 sessions.
This year’s focus is on making La Passacaglia from Millefiori Quilts, however, you
are welcome to make a different quilt. We have members starting the Smitten
Quilt and Christmas Stars (from the book Millefiori Quilts) so I will be happy to help
you choose an alternate pattern based on your preferences.
You may purchase either a starter pack or complete pack of papers for La
Passacaglia. You should also plan to purchase templates for the project. Both will
be discounted 20%.
Bonus Sessions if you attend either Session One or Two: December 13 and 14.

We are thrilled to have Michelle Hiatt back in our shop!
Michelle is a Studio 180 Certified Instructor. She has developed her own line of patterns, Sew On The Go, using the Studio 180 rulers and tools, which she uses all around the country teaching in shops, quilt guilds and shows.
If you’ve ever taken a class with her you know that not only is she lots of fun, but that you’ll come out of class with a great project and with knowledge and techniques to use well beyond this one quilt. If you’ve never taken one of her classes, here’s your chance!
Jenn’s Journey
Michelle designed his modern play on Snail’s Trail quilt layout in honor of a longtime friendship. Michelle’s design makes excellent use of those 1-yard fabric cuts you have been collecting. It comes together with effortlessly
using Studio 180 Design’s Diamond Rects and NEW Large Square Squared. You will complete this journey with ease. Yes, you read correctly, a Snail’s trail block without paper piecing!

Private Class For times when a regularly scheduled class just won’t
do, we offer private classes to fill the void. Let’s say
that a class you're interested in requires rotary skills,
and you’re still snipping along with scissors. Well a 1-
hour private class will bring you up to speed. Or say
that you really want to get the hang of paper-piecing or
some other skill. Or maybe our classes just don’t fit in
your schedule. Talk to any one of us and we’ll find you
the right person at the right time to teach you what
you need to know. $25 per hour per person.
Free Motion Quilting Using Rulers
Rulers aren’t just for longarm quilters anymore. Machine quilting using rulers on a domestic sewing machine has been getting a lot of attention in the quilting world recently. If you’ve purchased the Bernina 72 foot and ruler kit and want to get started using them, this 2-session class is for you. In the first 3-hour class, you’ll learn how to use the Bernina rulers and practice on muslin. You’ll ‘play’ with the 5 rulers that come in the
class, you’ll work with the rulers on a simple table runner you’ve made prior to class. Working with rulers will open a whole new world of fee-motion quilting to you. It take a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be hooked.
Required: ruler kit and Bernina 72 foot, and confidence in free motion quilting Instructor: Sue Fee: $54 Mondays, October 16 and October 23, 1–4 pm

Cartwheels Paper Piecing
Ready to turn some cartwheels? Paper piecing is an easy way to use your sewing machine to create blocks with unusual patterns and images that can’t be easily achieved with traditional piecing methods. Using the Cartwheels pattern we will practice the method with smaller units that are joined to make a whole block. This is a technique-only class—you may work on the pillow front, the quilt itself or just use some fabric to practice the skill. Note: This is not a class for English paper piecing (EPP), which is done totally by hand.
Required: pattern
Instructor: Ro
Fee: $27

T-Shirt Quilt
Gather your old t-shirts and use them to make a memory quilt, adapting the pattern to meet your needs and t-shirts. We will discuss several design options, learn to prepare the blocks and begin to put them together. We will also consider photo printing on fabric as a possibility for inclusion in future quilts. This is a design and technique class only, so we will not complete the quilt in class.
Required: rotary cutting skills and the knowledge of quilt construction are required for this class Instructor: Ro Fee: $54 Tuesdays, October 17 and November 14; 1–4 pm

Your First Art Quilt with Lulu the Elephant
Ok many of you have asked for a class making Lulu the Elephant. Since you did so well making fish for your placemats this is a natural next step for a larger project. The technique is similar but not the same. If you didn’t take the fish class you can still start with this class as your first art project It’s a bit bigger but just as much fun, maybe more because it uses all the flower fabrics we love to collect and who doesn’t have a fondness for elephants? (they’re good luck!) This is a fused raw edged pattern by Laura Heine. We will work on color placement, blending, edges and eyes using flowers and other images. There is homework to be done before class.
