Dear Readers,II am proud to introduce to you the UDSM International Buzz News, which is an e-Newsletter of informa-tion on the internationalisation of the University of Dar es Salaam. The Newsletter is an initiative aimed to am-plify and raise awareness of the University’s international engagements in academic, research and cultural en-deavours. This quarterly, on-line and mobile friendly Newsletter will be circulated via email, the University website, portals, social media platforms such as WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, and the Alumni Portal. The Newsletter is prepared and circulated by the Directorate of Internationalisation, Convo-cation and Advancement.
In this issue, we wish to inform you about the visit of the University of Dar es Salaam Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wil-liam A. L . Anangisye to colleges in Tamil Nadu, India, following an invitation from the PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Coimbatore, India in pursuit of institutional partnership. The Vice Chancellor also visit-ed other reputable colleges in India: The Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology in Coimbatore and Thiagarajar College of Engineering in Madurai in search of partnership opportunities, particularly in Engineer-ing and Technology. The Vice Chancellor met fellow leaders of the university colleges and toured facilities such as laboratories, workshops, libraries and other amenities. The initially agreed upon areas of co-operation include training, staff and student exchange, joint research, joint entrepreneurship incubations and joint Problem-Based Learning programmes. Professional areas of co-operation will include Business Studies, Chemistry, Engineering and Technology, Computer Science and In-formation Technology, Entrepreneurship, Gender Studies, Botany and Zoology.
During this visit, Mr G. Rangaswamy, the Managing Trustee of the GRG institutions donated books (e-books and hard copies) worth USD 25,000 to the University of Dar es Salaam.
