Questions you may have asked:QUESTION: Does the vacuum hose and piping clog up if you

vacuum dry when the lines are still wet?

ANSWER: With an AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry cleaning system this problem is eliminated as the cleaning solution reduces the surface tension of the hose and piping system, thus not allowing dirt and grease to stick to it.

Water, grease and debris when being sucked up by the vacuum spirals in the pipe keeping the entire pipe clean, whereas in a sink drain the grease goes on the top, the water in the center and the debris on the bottom. If wet or sticky debris is picked up without cleaning solution being used, the entire system can still be rinsed by sucking up clean water from a sink or pail.

QUESTION: Can my existing central vacuum system be con-verted to a Wet/Dry central cleaning system?

ANSWER: In most cases the existing piping with some modifi-cations can be used.

A water or solution line must be run from an outlet beside the existing vacuum inlet to the solution injector or hot water line. Where access is limited a water hose extension is used and the outlets may be located under a sink or in the wall where access is possible.

The Power Unit must be located where it can be drained and Hot and Cold water must be provided.

QUESTION: What is the advantage of AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry Central Cleaning Systems over portable Wet Dry Vacuums or those using water as a filter?

ANSWER: First, the quality of air in the cleaning environment. The air exhausted by portable vacuums (even from those who pass the air through water) contains chemical vapors, dust and other allergens.

Since AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry is vented outside, 100% of these contaminants are flushed down the drain or exhausted outside the building.

Second, convenience. AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry is ready to use. By plugging in the hose and solution line, mixing of the cleaning solution, rinsing of the tank, and dumping down the drain are all automatically done.

Portables require dragging out of storage, filling up with water, getting out a separate solution line, mixing your clean-ing solutions and attaching it to the sink faucet. (Don’t forget to dump out, clean and dry the entire unit before putting it away or what a smell!)

Utility Requirements

• ELECTRICAL: 120VAC 15 or 30 amps• WATER: Hot and cold with shutoff and backflow preventer.• DRAIN: 2” DWV to sewer• EXHAUST 2” to outside• The Power Unit is to be located in an area where it is

protected from freezing. It should be exhausted to theoutside using as direct a route as possible.

• The Power Unit should be drained into a 2” DWVstandpipe connected via a P-trap directly to the sanitarysewer (A floor drain could also be used.)

Vacuum Inlet / Water Outlet• Vacuum Piping: Standard 2” PVC and fittings are used

(May use aluminum piping through fire- code regulatedareas.) A P-trap is installed for outlets piped up to overheadlines. Existing piping installations may require somemodifications.

• Water Lines: 3/8” or 1/2” PEC, (1/4” or 3/8” PVCbraided hose on surface-mounted installations) or copper.

• Vacuum Inlets: Standard Vacuum Inlets are used with thecontact pins on the top. (No ‘Super valves’)

• Water Outlets: Mounting plates with a hydraulic stylequick disconnect and a modified matching vacuum inlet areused for in-wall installations.

February 24, 2008 To Whom It May Concern, It has been our good pleasure, here at Fit ‘n’ Furry, to own and operate four complete Aqua Air AA250 Heavy Duty commercial wet/dry vacuum systems. They were installed by Clean Living Technologies here in Northern California which is owned and operated by Michael DuPar. We worked together to design, install and service these systems which have performed beyond expectations! Allow me to give a little background. We opened almost a year ago and are a state of the art all indoor pet care facility located in Petaluma, CA about 40 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. We are also the first Certified Green Building Project in the City of Petaluma; more about being Green in a few minutes. We board dogs, cats and birds, offer grooming for dogs and cats, train dogs and of course provide doggie daycare. We started with an empty 17,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a design to build in a full service grooming spa, 3 well equipped doggie daycare rooms (that double for dog training) and 153 dog rooms including 21 suites and 132 standard rooms. All of these areas would have required a substantial number of floor drains for regular hose washing. The under-slab plumbing, concrete cutting, demolition and replacement would have cost a fortune not to mention the monthly per drain service charge by the Sewer Dept. Our Pet Care Facility designer and Construction Consultant, Al Locker of Turnkey, Inc., recommended we pursue installation of wet/dry vacuums as an alternative form of cleaning to see if they would also reduce our plumbing costs. We found that the four Aqua Air vacuums saved us close to $50K in plumbing and other costs but it did not cost anywhere near that much to purchase and install them! There are other pluses too! For example, we lease our building and if the time comes to leave the building must be returned to its original condition, in other words undo all the plumbing. The same is true of the Aqua Air Systems however; we can disconnect them and take them with us! Here are some of the more subtle benefits derived from the Aqua Airs systems we’ve experienced over the past 11 months of operation. First, we received points for our Green Building project because they use less than 1/3 of the water required by conventional systems or methods. Secondly, the discharged air from the vacuums does not go back into the building; the discharged air is vented through the roof as these heavy duty vacuums act like exhaust fans expelling the dirty air outside, thus preserving the quality of our indoor air. Lastly, the City of Petaluma loves us because we are not only

vacuuming up residual pet waste and using minimal amounts of water but we also suck up pet hair which keeps it from being washed down the drains and impacting the City sewer system. The most major benefits of the Aqua Air systems to Fit ‘n’ Furry are: savings on labor costs, a very clean building and the minimal operational and maintenance costs. Our labor costs are half of what they would be if we cleaned by different means. We simply spray out a fine mist of hot water or cleaning solution on floors, walls, gates and equipment let it soak for a few minutes and then vacuum it right up leaving only a thin film of clean water which quickly evaporates! Is it clean here? Prospective clients touring our facility continually remark, “It doesn’t smell like pets in here, it smells clean!” What do they cost to operate? Periodically the vacuums need to be emptied and the debris nets changed. This takes less than 5 minutes per unit and the nets cost less than a dollar. Electricity to operate each unit is only pennies per hour. Every time I hear one of the vacuums click on I know we are saving money, creating a clean indoor environment and maximizing labor! Clean Living Technologies did a fine job to make sure equipment, materials and tools were on the job in time to complete the installations as scheduled. They have been faithful anytime there was a service need or ‘bug’ to work out and also helpful with hands on training and operation of the Aqua Air vacuums.
