• Veterinary & nursing (vet tech) students training together. Why?
• Work together all professional lives
• But not learning together at college• But not learning together at college
• Talked to stakeholders to identify training needs
• Practicing veterinarians, vet nurses and students

Business Skills for New Graduates
• Very necessary, especially now!
• Am I comfortable making money?
• How much do I need to earn to cover costs?
• What is profit used for (& what happens without it…?)• What is profit used for (& what happens without it…?)
• Minimal business training in curricula
• Surveys have found that both employers and recent graduates want better & more business training
• Some courses (MBA-type)
• i.e. mostly at business ownership level

Computer Aided Learning Package:
The EMS Driving Licence
UK students have to do 26 weeks of placement learning (Extramural Studies –EMS) mostly in private practices before they can graduate
Our aim was to be better prepare students for placements
so they can make better use of the learning opportunities

I used these tips at my last practice & it definitely made me more popular
with staff & thus I was given more practical tasks which was great

made me much more aware of how I come across to vets & clients”
