These instructions apply to the following ICESTAR CLAMPS types:Vertical types:

LA LPA L LPRead the instructions thoroughly before using the ICE STAR CLAMPS. Make sure you have understood everything. Failure to observe the instructions can re-sult in physical injury or material damage and will void the warranty.

1 Safety notesCAUTIONIf RUD ICE STAR CLAMPS are mounted incorrectly, not closed or used improperly, it may result in physical injury and material damage in the event of a fall. Always check ICE STAR CLAMPS carefully prior to use.

• RUD ICE STAR CLAMPS may only be used by authorised and trained persons in compliance with BGR 500, Section 2.8 (DGUV regulations 100-500). Outside of Germany, the relevant specific national regulations must be observed.

• The following details must be correct: - Weight of the load to be lifted - Metal hardness of the load to be lifted - Load-bearing capacity (shown on part) - Rim width (shown on part)

Always check each of these points prior to use!• The correct number of ICE STAR CLAMPS must

be used depending on application and load. Please also note the centre of gravity of the load.

• Loads may only be used/lifted using correctly locked ICE STAR CLAMPS.

• ICE STAR CLAMPS may not be used to lift/trans-port persons.

• Only functioning, maintained and complete ICE STAR CLAMPS may be used (see Section 3 “In-spection and check”). Always check this prior to use.

3.2 Periodic inspection / service

The documented periodic inspection has to be carried out by a person who is qualified to do so.Inspection intervals must be observed for ICE STAR CLAMPS according to use:• Annualservice(12-monthinterval):

Use of ICE STAR CLAMPS with various loads/weights within the load-bearing capacity range. Or application requiring < 65 % of load-bearing capacity (symmetrical load)

• Half-yearly service (6-month interval): Use of between 65 % and 100 % of load-bearing capacity.

• Quarterly service (3-month interval): Use between 65 % and 100 % of load-bearing capacity in varying operating conditions.

If anything conspicuous occurs during an inspection, the ICE STAR CLAMP must be repaired or taken out of operation immediately. The inspection interval is based on the most recent service.

3.3 RFID

Each ICE STAR CLAMP is fitted with an RUD ID Point®

(RFID chip) and can be clearly identified by means of an ID number. This can be captured using the RUD ID EASY-CHECK® (reading device) and transferred to the EYE-D.NET system, for example. The latter application assists you in managing and documenting your components.Further information can be found online or from your RUD contact.
