    AVEPisanevokedpoten.alcausedbyavisuals2mulus,suchasanalterna.ngcheckerboardpa9ernonacomputerscreen.Responsesarerecordedfromelectrodesthatareplacedonthebackofyourheadandareobservedasareadingonanelectroencephalogram(EEG)Theseresponsesusuallyoriginatefromtheoccipitalcortex,theareaofthebraininvolvedinreceivingandinterpre.ngvisualsignals

    WhenistheVEPused?

    AdoctormayrecommendthatyougoforaVEPtestwhenyouareexperiencingchangesinyourvisionthatcanbeduetoproblemsalongthe

    pathwaysofcertainnervesSomeofthesesymptomsmayinclude:

    Lossofvision(thiscanbepainfulornon-painful);Doublevision;Blurredvision;Flashinglights;Altera.onsincolorvision;orWeaknessoftheeyes,armsorlegs
