The MBA International Management of Resources and Environment (IMRE) Study Programme of TU Bergakademie Freiberg Germany is a thematic MBA Programme providing profound knowledge and skills to future managers of environmental protection, natural resources from cradle to grave and energy resources.

Twelve years after the first intake arrived in Freiberg, the Programme has delivered highly qualified IMRE Alumni with admirable careers in many countries of the Globe. Since 2003, the MBA IMRE Programme Coordinators have organized several IMRE ALUMNI CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS on important issues strongly related to the content of the Study Program.It is our great pleasure to inform you that, in 2011, the MBA

thIMRE Alumni Conference and Meeting will be held from 25 thSeptember to 30 September 2011 in Bandung, Indonesia, in

cooperation with the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB). The event is sponsored by DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service.The Theme of the 2011 event is dedicated to the development of renewable energy technologies in developing and emerging markets. At the time of writing, the world witnesses the severe risks of nuclear energy and it is expected that a serious global change of opinion about nuclear may emerge.A new boost of renewable energy technology may be the outcome of this reflection process. Long term world energy forecasts, stating a contribution by renewable energy sources up to 50 % to world energy consumption in 2050, may gain credibility. The Theme of the 2011 MBA IMRE Alumni Conference and Meeting has to be re-interpreted in view of the recent developments in Japan.
