Discreetly tucked away on one of the only streets to survive the

Great Fire of London, Founders’ Hall is a remarkable building

that boasts striking style and flair. The street in which the venue

is set is Cloth Fair; a delightful beginning to your event; quaint,

charming and encompasses the old London spirit.

Three perfectly-proportioned rooms of varying design and

capacity, each with their own unique character are located

across three floors, the spaces can be hired individually or

exclusively.

The largest and most impressive space is the Livery Hall, with

delightful views into the tranquil gardens of St Bartholomew

the Great. The unusual port-hole windows flood the room

with natural daylight, offering guests a taste of scenery in the

heart of the City. The Livery Hall is a refreshing and uplifting

choice for conferences up to 84 delegates theatre style.

Tastefully understated with distinct modern furniture, the

Parlour works beautifully for intimate presentations for up to 22

delegates boardroom style, fine dining, break out space or for

post event receptions. The charming double-aspect Masters

and Clerks is eminently suitable for meetings, seminars, one-

to-ones, office space or training sessions.

We are passionate about the hospitality industry and committed to

best practice environmental management and the efficient use of

resources to minimise our carbon footprint. Everything we do we

do with conscience. We have withdrawn plastic straws from service,

all our paper napkins are 100% recycled and we use jugs of iced tap

water to reduce the volume of plastic and glass in our venue. We

have secured gold membership with the MCS (Marine Conservation

Society) and have removed all ‘5 rated’ fish (fish from the most

unsustainable fisheries or farming systems) from our business. We are

now working to reduce ‘4 rated’ fish by 25%. We support British

farmers by purchasing as much British grown produce as possible

including Red Tractor certified meat and vegetables; we also use

‘wonky’ fruit and vegetables in our conference menus!

The Founders’ Company, owners of the venue, manage several

charities. The majority of the annual income is spent on education grants

and bursaries, the larger elements being grants relevant to metallurgy

and materials engineering.

In 2018 the Company offered a number of bursaries: five travel

bursaries to Barts and the London School of Medicine; six bursaries

in Material Sciences at three UK universities; one full bursary and four

music scholarships at City of London Girls.
