ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Early care and learning professionals, school age and family child care providers, early childhood educators, and
students will be attending the 23rd annual Children the Heart of the Matter Conference. This conference offers a series
of speakers, workshops, and information sessions about early childhood development. The Children the Heart of the
Matter Conference will be held at the Bell Performing Arts Centre in Surrey, BC, on January 31 and February 1, 2020.
Friday, January 31st, we will host a keynote address by Janet Lansbury; best-selling author of Elevating Child Care:
A Guide to Respectful Parenting and No Bad Kids: Toddler Discipline Without Shame, podcaster, teacher, and parent.
Saturday, February 1st, will feature a keynote address by Lisa Murphy; five-time author, international speaker, and early
childhood specialist. The conference also hosts a variety of workshops with a focus on the early care and learning
field. We anticipate approximately 600 participants this year!
Marketplace Information
SUBMISSION AND SELECTION
All submissions will be considered based on the criteria of appropriateness and uniqueness of services and/or goods.
Each 8-foot table with two chairs is a cost of $125 for Friday and Saturday. Multiple tables can be requested, however
due to space limitations we may limit the number of tables per vendor. Each booking will receive one complimentary
morning snack and lunch on Saturday (additional morning snacks & lunches can be purchased for $30). Electrical
outlets may be requested at a cost of $10 and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. A door prize
donation with a minimum value of $30 is required.
Submissions must be received by October 16, 2019 to be considered. We will notify successful applicants by November
15, 2019, and will provide payment instructions at that time. Please do not send payment with your application.
