VEDA low-voltage switchgear is designed for maximum reliability, safety, serviceability and usability. The switchgear can be implemented in fixed or withdrawable configurations and can easily be adapted to several specific applications and industries operating at land and sea.

Flexibility by VEO

The fully type-tested VEDA is exceptionally reliable to ensure personal safety. Spreading of arc flashes is effectively prevented with sheet metal walls between different sections. Enhanced arc flash protection can be achieved by utilising state-of-the-art arc relays and quenchers. Efficient touch protection for live parts is implemented to further improve personal safety.

For maximum cooling performance, the natural cooling can be increased by using fans or even air-to-water heat exchangers in certain applications.

VEDA has been type tested (TTA) by the Helsinki University of Technology laboratories,FIMKO and Zkusebnictvi A.S., Prague. In addition to fulfilling the IEC 60439/61439 standard, the tests have been extended to meet the requirements of all customer groups and national safety requirements.

Every switchgear goes through comprehensive routine testing to ensure that requirements are met. Equipment settings and parameters can be set during testing to minimise the work needed on site.

Thanks to the modular system, the VEDA switchgear can be modified according to customer preferences and project-specific requirements. Quick installations and fast serviceability allow for minimised downtime.

The spare spaces are easily utilised and if specified at the design phase, future switch-gear extensions can be prepared to allow for smooth installations when the need arises.

Both the design and manufac-turing of VEDA follow the principles of ISO 14001 to optimise the use of material from our local main suppliers and to reduce the carbon footprint.

The origins of the VEDA applications are primarily found in hydropower. Over the years, utilisation in wind, thermal and solar power has grown significantly. Nowa-days different types of energy-efficient hybrid solutions in both land and marine applications are taking a large role in our business.

VEDA MCC is designed to be fully compatible with the requirements set by the heavy industry with a nominal current capacity of up to 5000 A.

The VEDA MCC switchgear is based on Form 4 partition making it exceptionally safe. The metal clad construction efficiently prevents arc flashes to spread to other cells.

Tailor-made testing is done to ensure that every switchgear fulfils the needs of our customers. The air circuit breakers are typically tested installed in the switchgear to ensure their current carrying capacity.

Protection relays and devices are tested with primary setting currents according to customer specifications.

VEDA Drives switchgear is optimised to fit both new instalments as well as retrofits of old equipment.

In retrofit solutions, section placement and alignment utilise old cablings when possible to minimise the need for new installations.

Maximum enclosure ventilation of VEDA Drives allows for high loadability and efficient removal of heat loss. To meet customer preferences and project-specific requirements, the ventilation solution can be air cooled or liquid cooled. For further flexibility, the VEDA Drives switchgear can also have a mix of section types from VEDA MCC and vice versa.

To meet the requirements for marine and offshore applications, VEDA Marine is based both on our own standardised and customised solutions and on marine-approved components.

VEDA Marine can be implemented in fuseless configurations using a space-saving solution based on Form2 partitioning. This allows four to five moulded case circuit breakers to be placed in the same cubicle cell. The solution improves the applicability and space effectiveness of the switchgear in marine applications where space is limited.

VEDA Marine fulfils the safety requirements of LVD (2014/35/EU) and has gone through additional testing to ensure it meets the national safety regulations and even the most demanding requirements of marine and offshore applications.

VEDA Hybrid combines traditional combustion engine technology with the benefits of energy storage.

This optimised piece of equipment can operate with any existing energy solution in any industry and is thus the perfect switchgear when you gradually want to shift to greener power generation.The hybrid solution significantly cuts energy consumption and balances voltage variations in the grid. It offers high-quality, reliable energy generation as it reduces power supply noise during consumption, thereby lowering maintenance costs.

The bidirectional drive converts produced energy for storage in the

battery until needed in other parts of the connected grid.
