Virginia Commonwealth University - Snead Hall
The ProjectIn 2008, President Emeritus Eugene P. Trani, Ph.D. of Virginia Commonwealth University, signed the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment which added significant dollars to their budget while making environmental changes to the University.
In efforts to reduce emissions in all areas of VCU’s campus life; in November 2012, VCU decided to retrofit the exterior lighting of Snead Hall, home of the VCU School of Business.
The SolutionThe solution came in the form of LitespanLED® Post-Top Replacements lamps from EiKO Ltd – retrofitting 604 of VCU’s existing acorn fixtures of 150W High Pressure Sodium lamps. EiKO’s LitespanLED® Post-Top replacement lamp provides 105 lumens per watt with a long life of 60,000 hours, saving time and energy by requir-ing fewer replacements over time.
LitespanLED® Post-Top LED Replacement lamps
maintain greater than90% of initial light output
after 60,000 hours.
