Das Val Badia Jazzfestival ist eine musikalische Wanderung durch das facettenreiche Ga-dertal. Die Strassen, Theater, Chalets, Schlösser und Plätze der Ortschaften werden in den Tagen des Festivals mit anspruchsvollen Melodien verziert und auch die Bars und Hotels sind Gastgeber für so manchen musikalischen Hochgenuss. Musik- und Bergliebhaber können sich von den dargebotenen Live-Acts in malerischer Szenerie abwechselnd mitreissen und bezaubern lassen. Seit 1999 wird das Val Badia Jazzfestival gepflegt und organisiert unter der Mitwirkung von der Uniun Musicala y Culturala Ladina. Neben hochwertigen italienischen Formationen wirken auch internationale Musikergrößen beim Festival mit. Zahlreiche Künstler wie Andrea Pozza, Mauro Ottolini, Gianni Basso, Claudio Filippini, Gianni Cazzola, Francesco Bearzatti, Enrico Crivellaro, Nick Becattini, Slide Hampton, James Thompson (Zucchero), Dilene Ferraz, Vincent Williams, Alan Farrington, Kay Foster Jackson, Peaches Staten etc...haben in den letzten Jahren die Besucher des Festivals bewegt und begeistert.

“Valbadia Jazz Festival” - 12° edizione - è una rassegna itinerante ospite di molteplici strutture che offre l’opportunità di conoscere in breve tempo la Val Badia, seguendo il filo conduttore della musica. Ci si trova così in ritoranti, piazze, teatri, rifugi, hotels, “castelli”, pub e cocktail bar che diventano punti di riferimento degli amanti della musica e della montagna.Non dimentichiamoci di teatri e sale manifestazioni, strade e piazze dei paesi, che a loro volta vengono colorati di musica.Il festival è organizzato in collaborazione con Uniun musicala y Culturala Ladina. In questo nuovo program-ma il gruppo si “cuce addosso“ le melodie più importanti del famo-sissimo quartetto di Liverpool!

Nach einem einge-henden Studium der typischen Dixieland-Landschaft, ruft die Band nun ein innovatives Projekt ins Leben, welches seine Haup-timpulse aus der fest etablierten Jazz-Tradition zieht. In diesem neuen Programm, näht sich die Truppe ein solides musikalisches Kleidchen aus den wichtigsten Melodien des wohl berühmte-sten Quartetts von Liverpool und hinterlässt einen nahtlosen Ein-druck.

After exploring typi-cal Dixieland musical territory, the Tiger Dixie Band launches into a completely innovative project, inspired by consolidated jazz tradition. In this new programme the group “tries on” the greatest melodies of the famous four from Liverpool.

Quella che un tempo era una pura dixie band è cresciuta in breve tempo, componendo brani originali e non ponendosi limiti di genere musicale. La tradizionale “banda” di ottoni si trasforma in un’esplosione di energia e riar-rangiamenti che dal jazz possono portare all’ hard rock!

Pamstiddn Kings sind 6 Jungs, 8 Instrumente, ein Megaphon und jede Menge Spaß. Was einst in Villanders Ostern 2005 als reine Dixieband geplant war wuchs in kurzer Zeit zu einem ausgereiften Ensemble heran, das seine Stücke selber arrangiert und vor keinem Musikstil halt macht. Das klassische Verständnis von Blasmusik wird gesprengt, Kom-positionen in Einzelteile zerlegt und das Ganze Kopfüber wieder zusammengestellt.

Pamstiddn Kings are 6 guys, 8 instruments, a me-gaphone and a load of fun. What was once a pure Dixie band has grown up quickly, composing ori-ginal pieces and respecting no li-mits of musical genre. The tradi-tional brass band is transformed into an explosion of energy and rearrangements that can range from jazz to hard rock!

Premio Regionale Ligure per la Musica 2008, RED WINE ha suonato nei maggiori Festival internazionali in Europa, ed ha conquistato un seguito ed una reputazione anche negli USA, dove si esibisce regolarmente ogni anno.

Red Wine ist eine der wichtigsten Akustikbands Europas. Die Formation ist seit 1978 aktiv und pflegt einen nachhaltigen Stil, der vom tra-ditionellen zum zeitgenössi-schen Bluegrass überfließt und einen weiten Kreis vom Country zum Gospel bis zum Swing zieht. Red Wine hat auf den grössten europäischen Festivals gespielt und sich auch in den USA Anse-hen verschafft, wo sie jedes Jahr auftreten. Im Jahr 2008 wurde Red Wine mit dem regionalen Mu-sikpreis Liguriens ausgezeichnet.

Red Wine is one of Europe’s top acoustic bands. They’ve been playing since 1978 with a style that ranges from traditional to contemporary Blue-grass, from country to gospel and through to swing. Red Wine won the Liguria region Music Prize in 2008, and has played in the top international Festivals in Europe, building up a following and a re-putation also in the States, where they play regularly every year.

ITA: ENG: DEU: Alan Farrington ese-gue un repertorio composto da brani originali e da altre canzoni che lo hanno influenzato durante il suo percorso musicale. Usa qualche effetto speciale...ma non troppi...una chitarra e la sua voce ..d’altronde come puntualizza Alan: “se canta ci sarà un moti-vo?!!!”. Ma sopratutto: non e’ un Juke Box!

Alan Farrington ist keine Jukebox, er ist eine Soundmachine! Mit seiner ein-zigartigen Stimme röhrt er durch die verschiedensten Musikreper-toires, die ihn in seiner musika-lischen Laufbahn gefangen und nicht mehr losgelassen haben. In seiner Performance benutzt er einige Special Effects...aber nicht zu viele...eine Gitarre und seine Stimme...Alans Kommentar dazu: “...wenn einer singt, dann wird es schon einen Grund dafür geben, oder?!”

Alan Farrington’s repertoire is made up of original pieces and other songs that in-fluenced him over his musical ca-reer. He uses some special effects – but not too many – a guitar and his voice....as Alan points out, “If he sings there’ll be a reason!”But, above all, he’s not a juke box!

Randy Newman definiert ihn als einen der originellsten Lieder-macher der zeitgenössischen Szene. Rosita Késs ist eine venezianische Lie-dermacherin, die seit einigen Jahren in New York lebt. Gerade eben hat sie ihr zweites Album “Northern Sky” fertig-gestellt. Im Album findet sich auch ein wertvoller Song gefeatured von Beth Hirsch, die Sängerin der bekannten Elektronikband A.I.R.

ITA: ENG: DEU: Il sound proposto dalla band spazia dai brani piu’ classici del repertorio Blues ame-ricano passando per il ragtime, il jazz di New Orleans e i ritmi Ipnotici delle Jug band. L’uso di strumenti non convenzionali come ukulele, kazoo, washboard contribuisce ad arricchire il suo-no della formazione base che con contrabbasso, armonica, chitarra acustica, banjo e mandolino ri-crea le atmosfere dei primordi del blues anni ’20.

Der Sound, den uns diese Band anbietet, beinhaltet alles, was das Herz begehrt. Vom klassischen American Blues bis zum Ragtime, der Jazz aus New Orleans und die hypnotischen Ryhtmen der Jug Bands. Ukulele, Kazoo und Washboard sind einige der unkonventionellen Instru-mente, die in dieser Truppe zum Tragen kommen und sie vereini-gen sich mit klassischer Forma-tion und Banjo und Mandoline. Der Blues der 20er Jahre lässt grüßen.

The band’s sound ranges from the classics of the American Blues repertoire pas-sing through ragtime, New Orle-ans jazz and the hypnotic rhythms of the jug bands. The use of such unconventional instruments as the ukulele, kazoo and washbo-ard helps enrich the sound of the basic line-up which, with double bass, harmonica, acoustic guitar, banjo and mandolin recreates the atmosphere of the birth of the blues in the Twenties.
