VATSIM ASIA REGION REPORT Q2/2017

Executive Summary

VATSIM Asia Region is happy to report substantial growth since the last Quarter. All Divisions are showing more and more activity online with VATWA having

the use of the new FSS. We would like to welcome Mr. Anthony Colduck as the newly appointed Deputy Regional Director (VATASIA2). Anthony brings a lot of

experience from various previous staff positions within VATWA and VATSIM Network and has also been assisting local communities with Training and web

services.

Administrative Report

1.0 Staffing

The VATSIM Asia Region reports the following staff changes and/or new appointments:

Alan Cooke (1194659) Previous Deputy Region Director sadly departed the regional staff team and is now enjoying some personal time flying

and controlling in his home country. We wish him all the best for the future and truly thank him for his dedication and assistance.

Anthony Colduck (1318565) Joined VATSIM Asia regional staff team as VATASIA2, Anthony is delighted for the role.

2.0 Technical

The Regional Helpdesk is set up and now sends emails to staff and members upon creation of tickets.

3.0 Membership

Updates regarding membership numbers within the region.

3.1 New Members

Between April 01, 2017 and June 30, 2017 a total of 757 members have joined VATASIA Region. Of the 757 members a total of 426

members have yet to connect to the network.

In this quarter, 3 controller were promoted to S2 rating, 2 controllers were promoted to S3 rating, and no controllers was promoted to C1 rating. Due to continuous shortage of instructors, the number of ATC trained have not increased in this quarter. We will continue trying to improve this situation by recruiting more ATC instructors in the next quarter.

Events In this quarter, we resumed to hold events on every Saturdays, and all of those events we held/participated were pretty successful, including several international events with VATRUS division, VATKOR division, and Hong Kong vACC. We also held several events with local virtual airlines, and they were successful as well.
