Progress Update Seafront Park (Near Seafront Stage):

Pre-casting of concrete panels for the sea wall and pedestrian footpaths is underway. A local supplier (Vanuatu Ready Mix) has been engaged to supply all pre-cast elements.

Excavation behind the seawall and removal of the sea wall capping beam is complete within Phase 1 area (approximately 100 meters).

Existing steel sheet piles have been cut to the required length for the sea wall refurbishment.

Water blasting and removal of rust from the sea wall is underway. A floating pontoon is used to access the seawall from the seaward side.

Trails for pumping of sea water from the excavation are underway. Improvements to environmental protection measures have been implemented as a result of the trials.

UNELCO have installed new service connections (power, water etc) under George Kalsakau Drive (GKD).

Environmental audit carried out and minor improvements identified.

Inspection of steel sheet piles and tie backs will be undertaken. Plugging of holes in the sea wall will be carried out to reduce the infiltration of seawater behind the wall and reduce the amount of pumping required.

Inspection and review of pre-cast concrete panels for the sea wall prior to manufacturing in large quantities.

Commence installation of formwork and reinforcement for the sea wall refurbishment (first 100 meters).

Pour concrete footings and new access ramp walls for the Seafront Stage.

Upgrades to road and carparks in GKD are being undertaken by a different contractor: CCECC Ltd. For enquiries contact: contact @PVUDP.com.

Public Health & Safety With multiple construction projects in progress at the Seafront Park, there is a lot of construction activity and

heavy vehicle movements. Please be vigilant and mindful of your own safety and the safety of others.

A temporary carpark is available between the Petanque Court and the seawall. Please watch out for vehicles and pedestrians crossing the park to access the temporary carpark.
