Lets make some PDI badges and PROTECT our Classroom.

Students will create Protect Dont Infect Badges (PDI). Students will be given one for a visual, and a blank one to create their own images, and to color whatever color they desire.

4Now that you have learned a little bit about germs, I want you to view this second video, and discuss it with your partner(s).

Students will be partnered with fifth graders and placed into groups. Each group will review the two videos, and answer the questions placed in the teachers Blogger through the comment section. Students will be allowed to get into their groups throughout the week to comment on others answers and opinions as well.

5Here is a handout of the experiment that you will do with your groups (5th graders). After you finish the experiment, discuss in your groups a jingle on how to prevent germs, you will sing it to your teacher and peers. How can we prevent Germs? You need:-glitter- lotion- sink- plastic tub- soapDirections:- place a drop of lotion on your hands, and ask your partner to place two pinches of glitter on your hands.- shake hands with another partner and see how easily the glitter (germs) spread. - now try to clean the glitter with a dry paper towel, is it working?- use soap and water, sing the alphabet, wipe dry with paper towel after. - did your hands come clean?

Take this handout and create a new word for each of the letters in the word G. E. R. M.

Students will be placed into groups of three or four to develop vertical words for each horizontal letter in the word GERM. They then will be allowed to share their funny words with their peers. 7With your groups (5th graders) you will create an account on PowToon, and create a short video on what you learned about GERMS. You will show your video to your classmates.

Now you will be placed into groups, and use the paint program to show what you learned from this project on germs. You can print your final project and share it with your classmates.

In your Kindergarten groups you will choose one person to take pictures, and the rest of you will put together a short skit about germs and how we can prevent them in this project.

Students will have the opportunity to view all images taken by students and video taken by the teacher after all peers present small skit. They will also be allowed to verbally express their opinions of their group members participation throughout the project. 10ReferencesGerms Science Projects. (n.d.).
