Morro Bay, California

Log Entry: Arrived at Moro Dunes campground for 2 night stay. Morro Bay is named for Morro Rock which sticks up about 500 feet out of the Pacific Ocean. The campground is practically on the beach with the rock in the background, picture perfect place except there's an electric plant right in the middle. Walked the beach and spent evening at site backing onto beach drive with electric and water. Big red bus pulled up in the evening and went through same routine as at Grand Canyon.Walked along beach to get into downtown Morro Bay in morning. There is a creek that dumps out partway along the way. We took off our shoes and socks and waded across. Took a walking tour of Morro Bay, from the commercial fishing piers to the tourist section and then inland a few blocks. Spent all day in town.
