Ensuring PE is seen as high profile
• Ensure enough time is given to the subject
• Enter every activity that we could, with properly prepared and equipped children
• Celebrate success (assemblies)
• Use the school and our expertise to train others (LEA, and Scitt Training)
• Provide wide range of activities ourselves rather than use coaches
Ensuring PE influences the wider curriculum
• Improve behaviour with targeted groups (Rockitball, Spirit of Cricket, Olympic Values)
• Aussie Rules Footy
• Assigned a teacher to find ways to link PE to Maths English and Science
• Outdoor Learning and Early Years activities
• Sport Based Comenius Project
• Link climbing to literacy
Embrace the natural ability to move.
• Nursery and reception children naturally move and are creative.
• It’s no good starting with KS2 (not top down, must have a whole school approach)
• Integral part of SDP• Headteacher must value the place of PE in the whole
curriculum (WE ARE NOT A SATS FACTORY!)• Raise the profile across school. Pupil PE kit, staff kit,
lunchtime supervisors, team kit.
