CD Users: You will not be able to pull a design direct from the Great Notions design CD - into your embroidery machine’s CD Reader as it requires serial number activation and an Internet connection to unlock each collection. You will need to first unlock your collection onto your personal computer following the instructions below and then after you have completed the registration process you will be able to transfer them to a CD or jump drive.

Great Notions Design Collection - Registration Information

In order to register your software an “Activation Code” is required which is pulled automatically from a data record on our computer. During registration, your computer communicates directly with our data server to retrieve this “activation code”. You must be connected to the Internet for this code to be retrieved in order for online registration to be successful. If you do not have Internet connectivity – please refer to the “NO INTERNET CONNECTIVITY” section shown below step six.

1. Launch the software by clicking the Great Notions icon on the Desktop. Click Register your Software from the Welcome window.2. Select the software you purchased from the drop down box.

A. Select the Great Notions Design collection you purchased.B. Your 16 digit Serial Number goes here. (It must be typed in using all CAPITAL letters and the dashes are required - this number is located inside your DVD case) C. Your Registration Number will automatically fill in. This is NOT your serial number (this number is required to gain an activation code). Again, this number will automatically be filled in for you - DO NOT change it.D. When the form is completely filled in, select Register Now.

3. Complete the form. Your 16-digit Serial Number is the number located inside your DVD case. Please type using all capital letters and dashes where applicable. A 20-digit Registration Number will automatically pop into the Registration Number field. Leave the Activation Number line blank as it will be automatically input when you click Register.4. Click Register Now.5. Scroll down and click that you accept the terms. The registration box will close.6. Close software and re-launch by clicking the Floriani icon. Registration is complete.

NO Internet ConnectivityIf your program is on a computer without internet access, follow these instructions:1. Using a different computer with Internet access, go to the web address below: http://www.rnkdistributingonline.com/support/registration.htm 2. Completely fill out all the information into the form. (You must include your 16 digit serial number for your software)3. In the text box, include a brief explanation. State that you do not have Internet access on the computer your software is loaded on and that you will need assistance registering your software.4. Click Submit.

Fax RegistrationClick on the Print Registration button. Then, fill out the form and fax it to 865-549-5116.

JEF and XXX format users note:There are some designs that are split due to their size or number of color changes. Before removing the fabric from the hoop make sure all sections ofthe design have been sewn. We suggest test sewing the design before placing on final fabric or garment.

Special Instructions if you are using the Amazing or Magic Box as your conversion software:JEF and XXX designs need only section A loaded into the box. The box will split the design for you if needed.

Success TipYour design will have proper support on any fabric type especially when using one of Floriani’s cut-away stabilizers. Some stable fabrics can also be embroidered using a tearaway stabilizer, but virtually any fabric will support embroidery with a foundation of cut-away stabilizer.

There are many types of cut-away stabilizer, from sheer to heavyweight. Because the cut-away will remain a permanent part of the garment, choose a weight that is compatible with your face fabric. Many sheer cut-away stabilizers are very strong and stable. A lightweight sheer may have more stability and less stretch than a heavier cut-away. Use a medium or heavy cut-away for sample swatches and testing of designs for a particular use.

Important Note:Great Notions designs were created with the properties of Floriani’s Polyester thread in mind. For best results, use this thread combined with a Floriani stabilizer suited to both the fabric type and design properties.

The red indicates a design that is rotated 90° to the left for all formats. Position your fabric accordingly.

Sew out times will vary according by embroidery machine brand.

SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT This is a legal document and is an agreement between you, the end user (“Licensee”),and Great Notions, Inc., or its assigns (“Licensor”). Great Notions does not sell any rights in Great Notions’ software. Great Notions grants the right to use its Software only by means of this Software License. Great Notions specifically retains title to all of its software. By your use of the Software you are agreeing to the terms set forth herein. If you don’t agree to these terms, return the software to Great Notions within three (3) business days from the date you purchased it for a refund. 1. Grant of License. In consideration of your agreement to abide by the terms and conditions of this License and the Warranty, Great Notions, as Licensor, grants to you, as Licensee, a non-exclusive right to use this copy of Great Notions’ software program (the “Software”) on a single embroidery machine at a single location, so long as you comply with the terms of this License. Great Notions reserves all rights not expressly granted to Licensee. 2. Ownership of Software. As the Licensee, you do not own the written materials or magnetic or other form of the software in which it is originally or subsequently recorded or fixed. An express condition of this License is that Great Notions retains title and ownership of the written materials, and the software recorded in any form, as well as all subsequent copies of the Software, regardless of the form or media in or on which the original and other copies may exist. This License is not a sale of the original Software, the written materials, or any copy of these. 3. Copy Restrictions. This Software and the accompanying written materials are subject to copyright laws. Unauthorized copying of the Software, including Software that has been modified, merged, or included with other software, or of the written materials, is expressly forbidden. You may be held legally responsible for any copyright infringement that is caused or encouraged by your failure to abide by the terms of the License. Subject to the restrictions above, you may make one (1) copy of the Software solely for backup purposes only, but you may not transfer or sell that copy. 4. Use Restrictions. You may physically transfer the Software from one embroidery machine to another, provided that the Software is used on only one machine at a time. You may not distribute copies of the Software or the written materials to others. You may not modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, copy, and/or disassemble the Software. 5. Transfer Restrictions. Neither the Software nor the License to use it may be transferred by you to anyone without the prior written consent of Great Notions. Any authorized transferee of the Software shall be bound by the terms and conditions of this License and Warranty. In no event may you transfer, assign, give, rent, lease, sell, or otherwise convey the Software on a temporary or permanent basis, except that you may destroy it when you no longer want to keep it. 6. Termination. This License is effective until terminated and will terminate automatically without notice from Great Notions if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you shall destroy the written materials and all copies of the Software, including modified copies, if any. 7. Limited Warranty. a.) No promise, representation, or warranty, or undertaking has been made or given by Great Notions or any person or company on its behalf in relation to the profitability or any other consequences or benefits to be obtained from the delivery or use of the Software and any accompanying written materials, or as to its merchantability or fitness for any purpose(s). b.) Under no circumstances shall Great Notions or any related company be liable for any loss, damage or injury (including without limitation any loss of profit, indirect consequential or incidental loss, damage, or injury) arising from the supply or use of the Software and written materials or any failure by Great Notions or any related company to perform any obligation to observe any terms of the Agreement. In any case, Great Notions’ entire liability under the law or any provision of this Agreement shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the Licensee for the Software. 8. Governing Law and Entire Agreement. The construction, validity and performance of this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. If all or part of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall remain in effect. This Agreement shall not be altered, amended, or canceled except in a writing signed by all parties.
