Valdez Argentina Report
Nov. 2014
NEW BIRTHS
Marcelo was baptized in November after
several months of study with Osvaldo. He is
already looking for a place to serve in the
congregation. Please pray for his continued
growth in the Kingdom.
Anastasia has lived in Argentina for the
past six years since they emigrated from
the Ukraine. Her parents faithfully attend
our Friday night small group at home. Please
pray that Igor and Elena will also make this
important decision for their spiritual walk
with the Lord in the coming year.
Bye to Valdez Home Group ‘til Fall!
F
Areawide Ladies’ Day in Banfield
November the 8th, the Saturday before we
left Buenos Aires on furlough, the ladies
from the Caballito congregation traveled to
Banfield (about two hours away from the
Caballito congregation) to join ladies from
other Churches of Christ in the greater
Buenos Aires area for a day of fellowship
together. Rosalinda Walker came across the
river from Uruguay to be our keynote
speaker. The Banfield congregation is very
small so it was a great encouragement to the
sisters there to get to fellowship with
sisters from the surrounding area.
Special Days of Fellowship and
Good-byes
Saturday, November the 15th, the youth put
together a special “good-bye” dinner for
Marisa who plans to begin a Master’s degree
in Counseling in the States in January. Then,
on Sunday, we had our monthly luncheon in
Caballito and the members of the
congregation also said their good-byes. This
will be a big transition for all of us. Please
keep Marisa in your prayers.
Evangelists Dario Lopera, Osvaldo and Joel Banks said a
special prayer for Marisa during our lunch together.
Furlough Begins….

Next Stop Lubbock and Canyon, TX.
On the way to Borger, TX, we stopped at
LCU to take care of Marisa’s entrance
requirements for the spring semester. We
were blessed to see several friends there
including Travis Young who spent a year in
Argentina as an intern with the Caballito
congregation.

We also visited with Mary Stephens, one of
our faithful supporters, who lives in Canyon.

Borger for Thanksgiving!
We spent Thanksgiving in Borger, TX with
Laura’s sister Deanna’s family. It was good
to be with family and also to have the
opportunity to visit with the folks at the
Borger Church of Christ which is one of
ourfaithful supporters.
Osvaldo met with the elders and he also
preached for the Spanish outreach and gave
a presentation on Sunday night for the
congregation. Thanks to Borger for all that
you do for the work in Argentina and in
other parts of the world!
Thanks so much to all for your
prayers and encouragement!
The Valdez family wishes all of
you a very happy holiday season
and we hope that you had a
special time with family and
friends over Thanksgiving.
Our journey continues west to
AZ and CA. We’ll tell you about
it in the next report…
May God bless!
