Humphry was a candidate for the postof house surgeon to Addenbrooke’s Hospital two other St.Bartholomew’s men also applied-viz , Luther Holden andHolmes Coote, both of whom afterwards became surgeons’ tothe hospital. A vote of thanks to the honorary secretaryterminated a successful and enjoyable evening.
