Who is NG Engine?

NE Engine Inc. is a sister company of Power

Solutions Inc. and Power Great Lakes. PGL is

the Largest 12 state Perkins distributer in

North America. PSI is the largest industrial

gas and alternative fuel engine provider in

North America, they build GM natural gas en-

gines. NGE is a result of a partner ship be-

tween PSI and Doosan-Infracore that com-

bines the best of both to provide EPA certified

gas engines. NGE is located in Wood Dale Illi-

nois.

Who is Doosan?

Doosan-Infracore is a manufacturer of Diesel

and natural gas engines, construction equip-

ment, and machine tools. They have been in

business since 1937. The are based in Korea,

but have factories and distributors around the

world, including the USA.

Engine & Generator Controls

Power unit packages come with key switch

start, a Controls Inc. Electronic control panel,

and a shutdown/

cool-down timer.

Genset packages

include the same

plus voltage and

phase monitoring &

shutdown. Pictured

is the Genset con-

troller, the power unit controller is the same

except it shows engine speed instead of volt-

age, amps & Hz.

What is ‘Prime Power’ HP rating?

The prime power rating is applicable for variable

loads with limited number of operating hours per year. The

average power output shall not exceed 75% of the prime

power rating. The total time at 100% Prime power shall not

exceed 500 hours per year. A 110% overload rating is availa-

ble one hour in every twelve hours with the total hours at

110% not to exceed 25 hours per year. Maximum number of

hours per year is 2500. The Continuous Duty Rating is 75%

of the prime power rating. The Engine can be run at 75% of

prime power continuously 24 hours a day. Continuous Duty

ratings are as follows 8.1LNA=67, 8.1LTA=137,

11.1L=190, 14.6L=252, 18.3L=318, 21.9L=380.

What do I need to know about EPA

compliance?

Before you buy a natural gas engine, make sure

you understand EPA regulations. For diesel

engines it is simpler, all new engines have to be

EPA certified from the factory. It is illegal to

sell a non-certified diesel engine in the USA.

But, because natural gas quality varies across

the country there are loopholes in the EPA reg-

ulations that allow engine makers to sell non-

certified natural gas engines. However, any

engine sold as non-certified must pass an on-

site EPA test to be legally used in the USA. The

test and the cost of the test is the responsibility

of the end user. Our natural gas engines are

factory EPA certified for use with pipeline quali-

ty natural gas, no field testing is required. If

you have questions about EPA regulations we

recommend that you talk to an EPA consultant.

Warranty

General warranty is 1 Year, 8,750 hours whichev-

er comes first. Warranty on emissions related

parts is 3 years, 2,500 hours. (emissions related

parts include; Fuel system, ECM & Electrical,

Turbo, Intake and exhaust manifold, Catalytic

converter, Belts, Pulleys, and Idlers) Starters and

alternators are covered for 1 year, 2000 hours.

All warranty claims are subject to approval by NG

Engine. Warranty on NACD Clutches is 1 year,

1,500 hours.
