Now ideally, we would like you to read
through this manual carefully,
since U-RALLY E EXPERT EDITION game strrt h
comes to you with a wide
range of options and
features. But if you really
must get on the track
right away, each menu
function is described at
the bottom of the screen.
Cars and stages to which
you won't haue access at
the start [this depends
on your progression in
the game) are not
displayed. To be able to
make the special stages and
blocked cars accessible, you
will haue to make progress in the
1-player game mode. Only then will
you be able to use these stages and
cars in Multiplayer Mode. Certain stages
also allow you shortcuts which it's down
to you to discouer - there's a whole
heap of surprises in store for you
throughout the game!

If Windows does not
automatically detect U-RRLLY
2 EXPERT EDITION CD-ROM, follow the
procedure below to install U-RRLLY
2 EXPERT EDITION.
1. Click on Start in your Windows
task bar.
2. Click on "Run..." in the Start menu.
3. Enter O:\SETUP.EXE to run the
installation program. [If the letter D
is not assigned to your CD-ROM
dnue, enter the appropriate letter).
The installation process begins.
Then follow the procedure below,
beginning at step 3.
3. Follow the instructions on screen.
Select the installation language.
The program will ask you to
accept the license agreement for
this product. Once you accept the
agreement you will be able to
continue the installation.
H. The installation program will
pause to confirm the destination
directory for the game files.
[The default directory is
C:\Program Files\lnfogrames\U-
Rally 2 Expert Edition.] You can
either accept the default
directory or choose another
directory. To do so, click on
Next. To choose another
directory, click on Browse... and
select the required directory.
5. The installation programme will
then ask you to test the CD, if
you enter "OK" you will hear a
sound track, click on Next. The
installation programme will
prompt you to install DirectX 7.0,
DirectX G.l Media and U-Rally 2
On-line. If you are unsure
whether DirectX 7.0 and DirectX
6.1 Media are installed on your
machine install them now! You
will be set some challenges ouer
the web with U-Rally 2 On-line
too! Click Dn Next. "
5. The installation program will
pause to confirm the destination
directory for the game
shortcuts. [The default directory
is Infogrames. You can accept the
default directory by clicking on
Next or specify another
directory in the Windows Start
menu. If you wish to create a new
file, you should specify its name.
B. The U-RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION
files will then be copied onto
your hard disk. If you wish to
stop the files being copied, click
on the Cancel button. Otherwise
the installation ends when all
files haue been copied.
7. The installation program will giue
you the choice of consulting the
Readme file or starting the game.
Note : If you haue installed
DIRECTX or DIRECT ME0IR from the
U-RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION CD -
RDM, the program will recommend
you reboot your PC for it tD
incorporate the new settings.
Readme File
U-RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION includes a
Readme file to let you see updated
information on the game. To display
the file, double-click on
Readme.doc in the U-RRLLY 2 EXPERT
EDITION directory on your hard
disk. You may also see this file by
clicking on the Start menu on your
Windows task bar, then by
selecting Programs > Infogrames >
U-RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION > BeadMe.
Uninstalling U-Rally 2 Expert Edition
To uninstall the game, click on the
Start Button on the Desktop, then
on Programs > Infogrames > U-
RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION > Uninstall;
or uninstall the program through
the Rdd/Remoue Programs in the
Windows Control Panel.
Running the Game
Once the game is installed on
your hard disk, click on Start >
Programs > Infogrames > U-RRLLY
2 EXPERT EDITION.
You can also run the game from My
Computer, by going through: [c:J >
Program Files > Infogrames > U-BRLLY
2 EXPERT EDITION > U-Rally 2.exe
U RRLLY 2 EXPERT EDITION is compatible
with the following peripherals:
- Direct input JOYSTICK,
- Force feedback wheels.
Note: while playing U-Rally 2 on
your PC, please ensure you close
all other Windows applications. If
you use the Rlt Tab function to
return to Windows, the U-Rally
application will close automatically.
If needed, use "CTRL+RLT+DEL"
for completely closing U-Rally 2.»
Moiling around the menus is
generally done using the Arrow
Keys, using the Enter key to select

If you want to configure your own controls, go to the main menu,
under "Game Options", "Controllers”, "Configure”. Press ENTER to
choose keys you want configured.
Note: if you re-configure the keys, ensure that the keys
player 2 has selected are different from those for player one!
DRIVERS The dnuer selection screen
allows you to either choose a
name from a list saued earlier, or
to sign up a new dnuer. Vou are

Note : The WRCs [World Rally
Cars] are, technically speaking,
the highest performers in the
World Rally Championship. All of
them are H-wheel dnue with a 2-
litre turbocharged engine [300

Kit Cars are based on standard
car models equipped and modified
for the rally. With different

sharpness of graphic details
[sharpness of dnuer in car,
surroundings being reflected
onto the car, etc.].

two-player using a split screen [except for Championship mode
where the two players will play in alternating mode].
The “Time Trial" and "Championship" modes can be played by H players

DESCRIPTION
In this mode the aim is to achieue
the best possible time; here all
the special cars in the other
game modes are auailable, but
there
is only one car in the race.
Since this mode is only for
recording times in two-player
mode, euen when playing on split¬
screen, you won't see your
opponents] on the track.

To choose the country in which
you want to race, scroll through
the list of countries using the
flight and Left arrows. Vou can
complete as many laps as you
wish.
Vou can actiuate "ghost" mode,
where you can see the ghost car
which has recorded the best
time.
Once you'ue gone through these
choices, choose the stages ouer
which you want to race.
Vou an also access the car and
dnuer settings [see SETTINGS for
more details], along with your
best recorded times for the
special stage.
Vou can load a preuiously-saued
"ghost", though this option is not
auailable if you are playing in
more than 3-player mode.
NOTE :ln the beginning, you only
haue access to the stages of
Arcade Mode Leuel I, European
Championship Mode and European
U-RflLLV Trophy Mode. The other
stages will become auailable in
Time Trial Mode depending on your
progression in the other game
modes. Ularning: you will only be
able to mDue up leuels if you’re
playing in single-player mode.

Once the special stage[s) haue
been completed, choose "Quit"
then "Game Options”, "Saue" and
finally "Saue game and scores".
R R DESC&PTION
Arcgfle mode is a mode where the
special stages are discouered
grajfually. You will haue to
achieue. a predetermined time in
orderyto haue access to the next
stage. This mode is diuided into
three groups of special stages,
with jficreasing difficulty leuels
[LE^i 1, LEUEL 2, EKPERT LEUEL],
anCn cars are in the race
togefhe-r.-at the same time. You
justice to complete the group
of special stages in the allowed
time to moue on to the next leuel.

SAVES:
You can saue at the end of each
leuel. If you leaue a leuel before
completing it, all data will be lost.
To saue, choose "Quit" then
"Game Options”, "Saue" and
finally "Saue game and scores”.
U-RRLLV TRDPHV DESCRIPTION
This mode is made up of 3 different
trophy competitions [EURDPERN,
DORLD, EXPERT) each of which has
its own group of special stages in
which H competitors are in the
race for each trophy.
The routes are made up of open-
and closed-loop stages.
Accumulating the times recorded for
all the races giues you the ouerall
rankings. You must win a trophy to
progress to the next group.
There is no checkpoint as in Rrcade
mode. Regardless of your finishing
position, you are selected for the

next stage. Rny damage sustained
by your car will be only uisual and
will not affect its performance.

After choosing the trophy
competition in which you want to
race, a screen will display the
competing cars and also the list of
stages making up the trophy
competition.
The stage you haue to complete will
be displayed on the screen. You will
also haue access to car and dnuer
settings [please refer to "SETTINGS"
for further information], and to best
lap times for the stage you’re about
tD enter.
SRVES:
You can saue your current
trophy performance at the end of
each stage.

Create your own tracks with
U-Rally B EXPERT EDITION!
On the Game Mode selection
screen, choose Track Editor Mode
and then feel free to generate,
saue, load, change and delete
your own tracks.
Use the Arrow Keys to moue
around the nauigation icons, then
when you want to use a function
[each one is commented], select
the function and confirm using
the ENTER Key. Then carefully
follow the instructions displayed
on the screen.
These tracks are made up of
blocks. To be able to try out or
saue a track, the minimum number
of blocks is ID; the number of
blocks in your track is shown on
screen.
THE GENERRTOR [BLUE ICONS] enables you to quickly generate and
saue new routes by defining a few important parameters such as
country, weather, difficulty leuel...
> Opening/Closing Track Loops To close an existing track, the two ends must be close
—enough and form a realistic angle.

All tracks created and saued in the track generator/editor are
accessible in Tune Trial Mode. They show up in the country you created
them in with the same characteristics [name, weather, route, eleuations,

FIRST-TIME RUN
The first time you run U-Rally On-
Line, you haue to set up your
account. In the U-Rally Login
mindom, click on the "CREATE"
button, fl nem mindom appears,
called "Registering for U-Rally
On-Line". The fields located to
the left must be filled in, those
on the right are optional. Dnce
the necessary information has
been supplied, the red "OK'’
button becomes actiue; click on
it to be registered on the seruer.
UJARNING!
The pseudonym you choose is
completely independent of the
one[s] used in the U-Rally B PC
game itself. Use any number of
characters from 3 to IS.
Don't forget your passmord or
your pseudonym! You'll be asked
for them mheneuer you run U-
Rally On-Line.
MAIN PAGE
Once enrolled, and mheneuer you
run U-Rally On-Line, you'll be
asked for your pseudonym and
passmord. Once this information
has been supplied, a nem "U-Rally
On-Line" mindom appears,
proposing four choices:
Performance Index, Rankings,
Domnload Tracks, llleb Recess and
also quit the application.
Be careful, the first time you
make one of these choices, you'll
access a help page on the Web.
This page contains detailed or
last-minute information. After
this first time you’ll access U-
Rally On-Line features normally.
Note'tfjM when U-Rally On-Line
launjh'es your IDeb Browser, it
putglitself in the task bar and an
icon 'Return to U-Rally On-Line"
appears at the top right-hand
carrier of the screen. Once
yoVue finished uisitmg the site,
just click on this icon to
reactiuate U-Rally On-Line. The
icon will disappear and the
programme will be actiuated.
1. PERFORMANCE INDEX
Thil index is calculated as a
function of the player's progress
in tia£ U-RRLLV E PC game. The
more feme records the player the
makes, the higher his
performant1^/ index. The
performance index is eualuated
as a number of points and is
uisible to the player at any time
when s/he selects one of the
dnuers at the start of the game.
It is possible to download your
index and compare it to those of
oth^r players enrolled in U-Rally
On-Line. After clicking on
"Performance Index", you must
then select one of the eight
existing flayers [up to 0 players
can be created in U-RALLV E PC).
Once the player has been
selected, just click on the
"Update” button for the
Performance Index preciously
selected to be transferred to our
seruer. In addition, you will
automatically be sent to the
Performance Index ranking page
of the U-RRLLV S site, where you
can take a look at your rating.
Vou can also consult the
Performance Index ranking by
using the U-Rally On-Line
application. Just click on "See
Complete Ranking".
Howeuer, be careful as this
button does not update your
performance Index!
If your ranking was not
preuiously updated, it might not
appear correctly in the ranking
you'll be showed. If the player
selected has download, euen only
once, his/her Performance Index,
the ranking will be displayed and
performance in red in the
ranking.
To return to the main menu, click
on "Quit".
S. RANKINGS
The ’Rankings" option shows all
times saued by a player in ""Time
Trial" mode. For each special
stage in the game [BH in all] only
the best fiue times are counted.

Similarly, for Performance Index,
you can download all the times
you haue achieued in U-RALLV E
PCs "Time Trial" mode. In this
mode, only the best fiue times
per special stage are counted.
The special stages rankings that
you just selected will then be
displayed. Vou can consult other
rankings by using the selection
arrows and then pressing DK.
□ n U-RALLV E PC's main page, once
you'ue clicked on "Rankings",
you'll haue to select one of the
eight dnuers you created in U-
RALLV E PC.
As for the Performance Index,
you'll haue to click on the
"Update" function tD upload all
the times you achieued in "Time
Trial" mode. Similarly, this
function will send you directly to
the time rankings on the U-RALLV
E PC site, where you can take a
look at your rankings.
In the same way, "See Complete
Rankings" lets you take a look at
the rankings of the player you
haue selected [note that here
also the times consulted will be
only up to date if you haue
carried out updating as
explained aboue). A new window
entitled "Special Stage Rankings"
appears. Use the orange arrows
to select the rankings of the
country and special stage you
want to consult, then press DK.
3. UP/DOIDNLOADING TRACKS
U-Rally On-Line lets you share
tracks you haue created with
anybody in the world!
To share a track with other
people connected to U-Rally On-
Line, select "Upload”. If you want
to share other people's tracks,
select "Download".
UPLOAD
Once you'ue clicked this button,
U-Rally On-line will go and look
for the tracks you'ue created.
This operation may last a few
seconds. The application informs
you of its progress. Dnce this is
done, a window entitled
"Downloading Tracks" appears. It
presents you with ualid tracks
found on your machine in
thumbnail form. Vou can consult
information about a particular
circuit. Just click on its
thumbnail, and the information
will appear on the banner located
at the bottom of the window.

The double arrows serue the
same.cpurpose, except that you

instead of just one.
Once; the right track has been
sele^ad, click on "Upload”, fl
progress bar will appear to show
you the state of pour uploading,
and will disappear once it’s
finished.
Note that for reasons of space,
you are jsot able to upload more
than orve track at a time. Each ,r
new ^t'rack you upload to the
server will automatically replace
and delete the one you
preuiously uploaded.

DOWNLOAD:
By clicking on this button, you
can download tracks created by
other players, fl window entitled
"Download tracks" will appear.
Using the orange arrows at the
top, select the country and the
type of road you're interested
in. Vou can see all the tracks by
choosing "All countries" and "All
surfaces". Then click on OK. U-
Rally On-Line will then download
the thumbnails of tracks
auailable on the seruer and
corresponding to your criteria.
Once this operation is ouer, you
will see it as explained aboue for
uploading.
As was the case with uploading,
select a track that interests you
then click on Download. U-Rally
On-Line will download and saue
the tracks you're interested in
in the right place.
Warning! fl track with the same
name might exist on your PC. U-
Rally On-Line will ask you to
choose another number for the
track you want to download. This
number must be between 00 and
99 due to the fact that U-Rally 2
PC only accepts 100 extra tracks.
This operation in no way affects
the characteristics of the track.
