Reality Based Learning, the One Pager, excerpt from my book

Reality Based Learning is a pedagogical learning concept, designed for teaching students, regardless off their

ages. The pedagogy is student-centered and learning in collaborative ways is the preferred learning method.

Teachers must act collaborative as well.

Reality Based Learning is designed specific for use with Tablet-PCs, one for each student. The method is served

and supported by ICT, whenever possible.

The best place to learn is out in the reality, if possible the teaching and learning should take place; in nature, in

public service rooms, in libraries, on business sites, on construction sites etc. When learning takes place in the

classroom, the teacher has to give up the teacher´s desk domain and share it with the students

Reality Based Learning works on a new paradigm - Making the Slate School; bookless, paperless and wireless.

The students must work by 7 principles:

1. The World is your classroom

2. Be curious (Be Gyro Gearloose/Professor Balthazar)

3. Try to innovate

4. See problems

5. Help solving others problems

6. Document, Mockument and Present

7. Use technology in every which way

This is Reality Based Learning explained in the shortest possible way; the full concept is outlined and detailed

in my book: “Reality Based Learning – Designing the Slate School” to be published January 2013
