Loki Mulholland is an Emmy-winning filmmaker, author, activist and son of Civil Rights Icon, Joan Trumpauer Mulholland. Loki’s films have received over 40 Telly Awards and his films on race and social justice issues have won 15 Best Documentary. His first book, She Stood For Freedom was nominated for the 2017 Amelia Bloomer Award. Loki is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and speaks all over the country on issues of race and social justice. He is the founder and Executive Director of the Joan Trumpauer Mulholland Foundation which was created to end racism through education.

Devery S. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Utah and a master’s in publishing from George Washington University. He is the author of Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement, which will be the basis for the first season of a new dramatic television series on ABC called Women of the Movement. He is currently at work on a book about of Clyde Kennard, another case on Mississippi racial injustice. He has edited or co-edited four books on Mormon history and published on historical topics in Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, Journal of Mormon History, Southern Quarterly, and Sunstone magazine. He lives in Salt Lake City and is currently marketing manager at Signature Books.

Attorney Well-Being and Results of the B.R.I.E.F. StudyThis session will include an update for practitioners on the results of the B.R.I.E.F (Behavioral Results: Investigation of Engagement and Function of the Legal Profession) study that was recently conducted by University of Utah Health regarding Utah lawyers’ responses, habits, and reported well-being. There will also be discussion of improvements and lessons that practitioners can implement to strive for greater well-being. CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION SESSIONS: All sessions held at the DIXIE CENTER at St. George.

BADGES: Your badge is your admission to all CLE and General Sessions as well as the Opening Reception. Spouses/Partners must also register and wear a badge to attend CLE events.

CONVENTION ATTIRE: A primary function of the Convention is to provide a casual atmosphere that allows attendees to meet with their peers from across the state. Therefore, the dress code is casual for the entire Convention.

SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS: If, under the Americans with Disabilities Act, you require special accommodations, please contact the Utah State Bar CLE Department, (801) 531-9077, no later than one week prior to the Convention.

MANDATORY CLE: The Utah MCLE Board has approved the 2020 Spring Convention for up to 10 hours of CLE credit, which includes up to 1 hr. Ethics, 3 hrs. Prof/Civ, 2 hours for the CLE film presentation (Friday, 3:15–5:30 pm), and 1 hour for the Friday luncheon. Sign in required for all ethics and professionalism/civility CLE sessions. Separate CLE certificates will be distributed during those sessions for attendees.
