Using Variables

Many of the numerical input values to processes can be defined by using a variable when run in theUncertainty and optimization process. When a numerical value is replaced with a variable in a processdialog launched from the uncertainty dialog, this variable is automatically added to the left of thecorresponding process in the Base case tab processes list of the uncertainty dialog.

You are free to add any custom expression or function, by switching to the Edit workflow mode, and using, for instance, the Property calculator operation general Functions.

How to use variables in uncertainty - Variogram range in Petrophysical Modeling

1. Select the desired method of uncertainty analysis (Uncertainty, Sensitivity by process / variable) inthe Uncertainty and optimization process.

2. Select the base case.3. Double-click on the Petrophysical Modeling process in the Base case tab and enter a $Variable in the

Range field for the variogram in the desired modeled zone.4. Press OK to save the settings.5. In the Uncertainty and optimization process, press Run to execute the process.
