Ideas:
There are many ways to teach Social Studies/Science using PowerPoint.
One idea: If you are going on a field trip, try and get some disposable digital cameras for the students to use on the field trip. When you get back load all the pictures onto a computer so students can access them on any computer.
![Page 3: Using PowerPoint to Teach Social Studies/Science by: Holly MacDonald, Chantal DesRoches, Karen Cheviere, Pam Berry, Bonnie Collins, Bryan Ouellette](https://reader036.vdocuments.site/reader036/viewer/2022081603/56649e2e5503460f94b1eba3/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Con’t.
Have students access the pictures to make a slide show off their favourite part of the field trip, organize the pictures in chronological order/ alphabetical order.
If it was a field trip to the zoo they could put the pictures of the animals in geographical order, order by size, what they eat, sleeping patterns, etc.

Con’t.
A teacher could get students to bring in digital pictures of their summer vacation and put them on a computer so all students could access them.
Put the students in groups and have them sort the pictures by location, province, country, alphabetical order, favourite places, etc. and develop a PowerPoint presentation

We hope that you now have a better understanding of the many ways PowerPoint can be used when teaching Social Studies/Science.
Here is a PowerPoint I put together to illustrate to students one way they might construct a PowerPoint.
