3. Keepbystanders,children,andvisitorsawaywhileoperatingamagneticdrillingmachine.Distractionscancauseyoutolosecontrol.
ELECTRICALSAFETY
1. Magneticdrillingmachineplugsmustmatchtheoutlet.Nevermodifythepluginanyway.Donotuseanyadapterplugs.
2. Avoidbodycontactwithgroundedsurfacessuchaspipes,radiators,rangesandrefrigerators.Thereisanincreasedriskofelectricshockifyourbodyisgrounded.
3. Donotexposemagneticdrillingmachinestorainorwetconditions.Waterenteringamachinewillincreasetheriskofelectricshock.
4. Donotabusethecord.Neverusethecordtocarrythemagneticdrillingmachineorpulltheplugfromanoutlet.Keepcordawayfromheat,oil,sharpedgesormovingparts.Replacedamagedcordsimmediately.Damagedcordsincreasetheriskofelectricshock.
5. Whenoperatingamagneticdrillingmachine,useanextensioncordsuitableforoutdooruse.Useofacordsuitableforoutdoorusereducestheriskofelectricshock.
6. Ifoperatingamagneticdrillingmachineinadamplocationisunavoidable,usearesidualcurrentdevice(RCD)protectedsupply.UseofanRCDreducestheriskofelectricshock.
PERSONALSAFETY
1. Stayalert,watchwhatyouaredoingandusecommonsensewhenusingamagneticdrillingmachine.Donotusemachinewhiletiredorundertheinfluenceofdrugs,alcohol,ormedication.Amomentofinattentionwhileoperatingmagneticdrillingmachinesmayresultinseriouspersonalinjury.
2. Dressproperly.Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelry.Containlonghair.Keepyourhair,clothingandglovesawayfrommovingparts.Looseclothes,jewelry,orlonghaircanbecaughtinmovingparts.
3. Avoidaccidentalstarting.TheEUROBOOREBM.360cordlessmagneticdrillingmachineisequippedwithSENSORTECHtoavoidaccidentalstarting.
4. Neverplacehands,fingers,glovesorclothingnearcuttingareaorrotatingmachineparts.

5. Removeadjustingkeysorswitchesbeforeturningthemachineon.Awrenchorakeythatisleftattachedtoarotatingpartofthemachinemayresultinpersonalinjury.
6. Mountthespanguardbeforeoperatingamagneticdrillingmachine.Spanguardpreventslooseclothes,jewelryand/orlonghairforbeingcaughtinthemovingparts.
7. Donotoverreach.Keepproperfootingandbalanceatalltimes.Properfootingandbalanceenablesbettercontrolofthemagneticdrillingmachineinunexpectedsituations.
8. Usesafetyequipment.Alwaysweareyeprotection.Dustmask,non-skidsafetyshoes,hardhat,orhearingprotectionmustbeusedforappropriateconditions.
9. Alwaysusesuppliedsafetychainduringanyworkonnon-horizontalcomponents.Mountingcanrelease.
MACHINEUSEANDCARE
1. Whenusingthemachineonnon-horizontalsurfaces,youmustusecuttingpaste.Donotuseoilbecausetheoilcandripintothemotorunit.
2. Duringmachineoperations,theannularcuttermustbecooledandlubricatedwithgoodqualitycuttingorlubricationoil.Removetheslugfromtheannularcutteraftereachhole.Caution,theslugmaybehot!
3. Useclampsorotherpracticalwaytosecureandsupporttheworkpiecetoastableplatform.Holdingtheworkpiecebyhandoragainstyourbodyisunstableandmayleadtolossofcontrol;
4. Donotusemachineifswitchdoesnotturnitonoroff.Anytoolthatcannotbecontrolledwiththeswitchisdangerousandmustberepaired.ForelectricalfailuresalwayssendthemachinetoEuroboororit’sauthorizeddealersforrepair;
5. Disconnecttheplugfromthepowersourcebeforemakinganyadjustments,changingaccessories,orstoringthetool.Suchpreventivesafetymeasuresreducetheriskofstartingthetoolaccidentally.
6. StoreidleMagneticdrillingmachinesoutofreachofchildrenandotheruntrainedpersons.Toolsaredangerousinthehandsofuntrainedusers.
7. Maintainmachineswithcare.Keepcuttingtoolssharpandclean.Properlymaintainedtools,withsharpcuttingedgesarelesslikelytobindandareeasiertocontrol.
8. Checkformisalignmentorbindingofmovingparts,breakageofparts,andanyotherconditionthatmayaffectthemachineoperation.Ifdamaged,havethetoolservicedbeforeusing.Manyaccidentsarecausedbypoorlymaintainedtools.
9. UseonlyaccessoriesthatarerecommendedbyEuroboorBVforyourmodel.Accessoriesthatmaybesuitableforonemachine,maybecomehazardouswhenusedonanothermachine.
SERVICE
1. Toolservicemustbeperformedonlybyqualifiedrepairpersonnel.Serviceormaintenanceperformedbyunqualifiedpersonnelcouldresultinariskofinjury.
2. Whenservicingatool,useonlyidenticalreplacementparts.FollowinstructionsintheMaintenancesectionofthismanual.UseofunauthorizedpartsorfailuretofollowMaintenanceInstructionsmaycreateariskofelectricshockorinjury.
3. Whenusingthismachine,youMUSTwearearandeyeprotection.

• Keepyourfingerswelloutofthedrillarea;• Avoidtouchingthedrilledcorethatisautomaticallyejectedbythecenteringpinwhenthe
workingprocedureisfinished.Contactwiththecorewhenitishot,orifitfalls,cancausepersonalinjuries;
• Alwaysusethedrillguard.Beforeturningonmachineensuretheguardisclosedsecurely;• Alwaysusethesafetystrap;• Themagneticdrillingmachineissuitableforuseonsteelwithathicknessofatleast10mm,
withzeroairgapbetweenthemagnetcoresurfaceandthemountingsurface.Curvature,coatsofpaintandsurfaceirregularitieswillcreateanairgap.Keeptheairgaptoaminimum;
• Alwaysplacethemachineonaflatsurface;• Donotclampthemagneticdrillingmachineonsmallorirregularlyshapedobjects;• Alwaysplacethemachineonasurfacethatisclearofshavings,chips,swarfandsurfacedirt;• Keepthemagnetcleanandfreeofdebrisandswarf;• Donotturnonthemachineuntilithasbeenmountedandinstalledaccordingtothese
instructions;• Donotturnonthemachinebeforehavingcheckedthatthemagneticstandhasbeen

BATTERYPACKChargethebatterybeforeuse.Ifperformancediminishes,rechargethebatterypack.Theidealstoragetemperatureisbetween10°and30°C.Li-ionbatterypacks(37V)haveacapacityandsignaldisplay:
• PressbuttonandthechargelevelisdisplayedbytheLEDlights;• IfredLEDisdisplayed,thebatterypackisalmostflatandmustberecharged;• IfallLEDlightsareflashing,thebatterypackistowarm.Allowthebatterypacktocooldown.
REMOVINGANDINSERTINGTHEBATTERYPACKRemovalPressbothbuttonsonthesideofthebatterypackandtakeoutthebatterypackfromitsposition.InsertingSlideinthebatterypackcompletelyuntilitengages.MOUNTINGTHEDRILLGUARD(FIG.1)
1. Holdtheguardinfrontofthemagnet,aligningtheslotsintheguardwiththeholesinthemagnet.
2. Fitthescrewsintotheholelocatedinthesideofthemagnet.
WARNING:AlwaysusetheSafetyguard.
FITTINGTHELUBRICATIONSYSTEM(FIG.1)Thelubricationsystemcanbeusedforhorizontaldrillingapplications(thedrillbeingusedvertically).
• Holdthecoolingtankagainstthebracketontheslideandpushitinitsplace.• Connectthehosetothenippleonthespindledriveshaft.
Inordertousethelubricationsystem,itmustbefilledwithasufficientamountofcuttingfluid.
1. Makesuretheflowregulatorisclosed;2. Unscrewthecap;3. Fillthecontainerwithcuttingfluid;4. Screwthecapbackon.
WARNING:Donotusethelubricationsysteminverticaloroverheaddrillingapplications.InsteaduseEuroboorcuttingpaste

FITTINGTHESAFETYCHAIN/STRAPFordrillingcarriedoutonangledandverticalsurfacesandoverhead,themagneticdrillingmachinemustbesecuredwiththesafetystrap/chainsuppliedtopreventitfromfalling,evenifthemagnetmalfunctions.
WARNING:Checkthesafetystrapfordamage.Ifthesafetystrapisdamaged,replaceitimmediately.
1. Passthesafetychainthroughtheopeningnearthehandle;2. Wrapthechainaroundtheworkpiece;3. Securelyclosethechainusingthelock.
Thesafetychaindoesnotreplacethemagneticforceofthemagneticdrillingmachine:itissimplyusedtosecureagainstfallingintheeventofamagnetmalfunction.WARNING:Alwaysusethesafetychainwhenusingmachineverticallyorinup-side-downposition.
INSERTINGANDREMOVINGANACCESSORY(FIG.1)
Removethebatterypackfromthemachinebeforeanyadjustments,conversionsorservicingareperformed.Donotusedeformedordamagedtools.Beforeuse,alwayschecktoolssuchascoredrillsfordeformitiesordamage.DonotuseaccessoriesthathavenotbeenspecifiedorrecommendedbyMetaboforthismachine.Theabilitytoattachtheaccessorytoyourmachinedoesnotguaranteesafeoperation.Securingorpositioningatoolincorrectlycancausehazardoussituationsduetopartsbreakingorbeingblownoff.Ifthetoolisjammed:PresstheREDswitch“O”toswitchoffthemotorunit.Removetheannularcutterfromtheborehole.
Thetoolholderacceptsannularcutterswitha19,05mmWeldonshankwithoneormoreflats.
WARNING:Theteethofacutterareverysharpandcanbedangerous.
1. Inordertofitanannualcutteritisnecessarytoremovetheguard(1);2. Slidethepilotpinthroughtheholeinthecenterofthecuttershank;3. Inserttheshankoftheaccessoryasfarintothetoolholderaspossible;4. TightenthetwoAllenscrewswithAllenkey;5. Toremovetheaccessory,loosentheAllenscrewsandtakeoutthecutter.

WARNING:Alwaysobservethesafetyinstructionsandapplicableregulations.
WARNING:Toreducetheriskofseriouspersonalinjury,turntooloffanddisconnecttoolfrompowersourcebeforemakinganyadjustmentsorremoving/installingattachmentsoraccessories.
MAGNETICBASEMaterialofminimum10mmthicknessisrequiredforthemagnettoworkthebest.Theattachmentforcegeneratedbythemagnetdependsonvariousfactors.
• Thicknessofthematerialthemagnetisplacedon;• Paintorcoatingofthematerialthemagnetisplacedon;• Metalchips,oilorotherdirtunderthemagnet.
IftheLEDlightoftheMagnetSwitch(seepage14)lightsupGREEN,themagnetisgeneratingsufficientattachmentforce.IfthisswitchalternatelylightsupREDenGREENtogetherwithabeepingsound,themagnetdoesnotgeneratesufficientattachmentforceandtheMotorwillnotstart(forsafetyreasons).
CAUTION:EUROBOOREBM.360doesnotallowturningonthemotorifLEDlightintheMagnetSwitchalternatelylightsupRED/GREEN.Ifturningonthemachineispossiblewhilethishappens,pleasereturnthemachinetoEUROBOORoranyauthorizeddealer.
Wewouldliketopointoutthatthisisonlyanindicationandnotacertainlythatthemagnetwillnotreleasefromthematerial.Eurobooracceptsnoliabilityensuringfromthemagnetindicatornotfunctioningorfunctioningpoorly.Makesurethatthemagnetattachestightlytotheworkpiecebeforeturningonthemotorunitofthemagneticdrillingmachine.Euroboormagnetshave2coils;makesurethatbothcoilsareincontactwiththematerial.Donotconnectanyothermachinestotheelectricaloutletthemagneticdrillingmachineispluggedinto,asitmayresultinthelossofmagneticforce.Alwaysusethesafetychain/strapincluded.Drillingoverheadisextremelydangerousandisnotrecommended.Fortheuseofmagneticdrillingmachinesonpipes,not-flatornon-magneticmaterials,werefertoourbrochureorourwebsitewww.euroboor.comwhereseveralvacuumtighteningsystemsandpipeclampingsystemsarementioned.

TURNINGMACHINEONANDOFFTHECONTROLPANELThecontrolpanelonyourmagneticdrillingmachineisdesignedformaximumoperatingfacilityandsafety.1-TheONSwitch(GREEN):This(upper)switchisusedtoswitchthemotorunitOn(“I“);2–TheOFFSwitch(RED)This(lower)switchisusedtoswitchthemotorunitOff(“O“);3-TheMagnetSwitch(WHITE):ThisswitchisusedtoturnonthemainpowerandalsotoswitchthemagnetOnandOff.Alsothisswitchindicatesifthegeneratedmagneticforceisenoughforthetooltooperatesafely.Theindicatorisenclosedinthemagnetswitchandhastwocollors:
• GREEN–SAFEforuse• AlternatelylightningupREDandGREENandmakingabeepingsound–Notsafeforuse
Inordertooperateproperly,themachinehastobeturnedonfollowingtheprocedureasdescribedbelow.ACTIVATINGTHEMAGNETConnectthemachinetotheworkpiece.Toactivatethemagnet,pressdeWHITEswitch(Fig.2–3).TheswitchwillbelitGREENifthegeneratedmagneticforceissufficienttoworksafely.IftheswitchstartsflashingREDandGREENandmakingabeepingnoise,thereisnotenoughmagneticforceandthemotorisnotabletostart.Todeactivatethemagnet,pressthesamebutton(Fig.2-3)again.TURNINGTHEMOTORONANDOFFThedrillmotorcanonlybeswitchedonwhenthemagnetisactivated.ToturnONthemotor,presstheGREENbutton“I”(Fig.2-1),theWHITEmagnetswitchwillbelityellow.ToturnOFFthemotor,presstheREDbutton“O”(Fig.2-2).

DRILLINGAHOLENowthatyouhavereadtheexplanatoryinformationandsafetyrecommendationsabove,youarereadytoactuallystartdrilling.Followthese10stepsforbestdrillingresult:1 Usethetipofthepilotpintodeterminethecenteroftheholetobedrilled.2 Turnthemagnetonandverifythatthedrillisintherightpositionandthatthemachineis
pushedtightagainsttheworkpiece.3 Ifyourmachineisequippedwithaautocoolantsystem,openthevalvetoreleasetheoil.Ifyour

ADJUSTMENTOFSLIDEAnessentialrequirementofthemachineisthattheslidecanmoveinasmoothandcontrolledmanner,freeoflateralmovementandvibration.Thissituationcanbemaintainedbyperiodicadjustmentoftheslideandisaccomplishedinthefollowingmanner:
1. Placethemachineinanuprightpositionand,bymeansofthecapstan,raisetheslidetoitshighestposition.Cleanthebrassrailstripsandapplyasmallamountoflightmachineoiltothewearsurfaces.
2. Commencingwiththetopscrew,loosenbothsettingnut(#4onsparepartdrawing)withincludedwrench8andthesettingscrew(#5onsparepartdrawing)withincludedAllenkey2.5.Thengentlyfeedinsettingscrewuntilslightresistanceisencountered.Followyourwaydownadjustingallsettingnutsandscrews.
3. Operatetheslideupanddownafewtimestotestthemovementandmakeanyfurthernecessaryadjustments.Trytoensurethatallthescrewsareexertingauniformpressureontheslidefromtoptobottom.Aperfectlyadjustedslidewilloperatefreelyupanddownwithoutanysidewaysmovement.
