Introduction 2

This manual describes how to install, design and

use the ‘DIS Digital Recorder Interface’

application.

This document does however not describe the

use of the applications in SW 6000 like i.e. the

CUA and CAA in details. And this document does

also not describe the use of DCS 6000 Digital

Conference System or DDS 5900 Digital

Discussion System. Please consult the relevant

manuals for this.

Minimum Requirements 2.1

Compatibility 2.2

‘DIS Digital Recorder Interface’ is designed to

work with the following central units:

• CU 5905 Central Unit.

• CU 6105 Central Unit

• CU 6110 Central Unit

An upgrade of the firmware in the unit might be

needed. Please consult your DIS Partner for

information about updating your system.

Supported Operating 2.3Systems

‘DIS Digital Recorder Interface’ supports

standard installations of the following operating

systems

• Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit)

Feature description 3

The DIS Recorder is an interface between a

digital recording application like ‘VRS Recording

System’ and a DCS 6000 Conference System or a

DDS 5900 Discussion System.

The DIS Recorder Interface is used for selecting

the information attached to each recording and

to enable automatic start/stop of the recording

triggered by opening/closing a microphone.

The connection to the DIS Recorder Interface

from the CU is established using a TCP/IP

connection.

The TCP/IP connection is an interface that

allows the DIS Recorder Interface (or other

peripheral) to receive information about which

microphones are turned on and off. Furthermore

it offers a recorder button on the CU web

interface to activate and deactivate recording.

To start receiving recorder interface data,

connect to port 1541 on the CU's Ethernet

connection.

When a connection has been established on port

1541 on the CU, a button will appear in the CU's

microphone control WEB page.

Toggling this button will send a message on the

recorder connection to either start or stop

recording. See section 14.

Whenever a microphone is turned on or off a

message will be sent on the recorder connection

containing data regarding the microphone. See

section 14

Important 3.1

Only 4 channel recording is supported.
