Introduction

Yammer is a private social network that helps you get connected to the right people,

share information across teams, and organize around projects. Only your coworkers

can join, so your communications on Yammer are secure and visible only to people

within your organization.

Yammer is a Microsoft company, though it’s not completely integrated into Office 365

yet. When you launch Yammer from within Office 365, you’ll be redirected to

yammer.com. Sign in with your Yammer username and password, or create an account

using your corporate email address.

This Document helps you to use Yammer with your Office 365.

Activate Yammer

1. In your Office 365 admin center, go to Dashboard

2. Select Included Services > Click Yes, activate Yammer Enterprise for my

network.

3. Select Activate Yammer Enterprise

Note: Domain should be verified to activate Yammer

4. Once you click Activate Yammer Enterprise, you will be prompted to wait while

the network activates.

Note: It can take anywhere from 1 to 30 minutes, but typically the process finishes within 5

minutes.

5. Congratulations, you have activated your Yammer network

6. To complete syncing your admin role, you must Log Into Yammer or create an

account.

Sign up to Yammer

1. Type the URL www.yammer.com in your browser Press Enter and provide

your corporate email id to join the Yammer network and click on Signup.

2. Sign in to your Office 365 account which you have registered with Yammer.

Yammer account activation mail you will receive in your mailbox

3. Provide the required information and click Next

4. You can add your colleague email id to follow them on yammer then click on

Next

5. You can join the Group which belongs to your department by clicking on Join

or any other of your Interest and click on Next.

6. You can upload your profile photo, and then click on Save & Continue.

7. Here we can use Yammer now.

How to use Yammer

1. You can read the messages from your Inbox by clicking in Inbox as shown

below

2. You can also create the new message to post by clicking on Create Message

3. You will get a pop up window.

4. You Can Post your message in Group or send it Privately

5. You can Invite your colleague on Yammer Network by clicking on Invite

option

6. Enter their email Id and clicking on Invite.

7. You can also download the Yammer Notifier on your Desktop.

8. Click on the Download Yammer Notifier.

Turn on Yammer in Office 365 AppLauncher

1. Navigate to SharePoint Online admin center

2. Choose Settings.

3. Under SharePoint Newsfeed, choose Enable.

4. Click OK.

5. After 30 minutes verify the Yammer icon in app launcher.
