Family Wellbeing Pack Resilience means having the ability to cope with uncertainty and change. We can build resilience by learning to manage our emotions and having good connections around you. This is important for children and adults, especially during these circumstances to build resilience, to prevent emotional distress. Children who are feeling overwhelmed and have little resilience will present with changes in behaviours and mood. It’s our role to support them to have confidence to express their feelings is healthy ways, to prevent the unhealthy and undesirable behaviours. Kindness is a big part of resilience: without kindness and support, dealing with difficult situations becomes much harder. Building resilience is also being kind to yourself, so that challenges become easier in the future. Resilience and kindness build a stronger you and a stronger community. Included in this weeks ‘Wellbeing pack’ is the ‘Power of kindness calendar’ with the aim of developing resilience and promoting kindness. You and your child can complete these together, each day recognising kind acts you have completed. Kindness also generates happiness for all involved. A reminder of tips for supporting and enhancing your child’s emotional wellbeing is also included. If your child is struggling to manage their emotional wellbeing and you feel they need some additional support, please contact the school and a member of the Wellbeing team will be in touch. ‘Normal’ Life will resume, stay positive, stay safe!
