The campus is situated on an expansive landscape, where nature and wildlife meet art installations and accessibility.

USC Sports Precinct (See map)

The University's $10 million indoor Sports Stadium is used for university, school and community sporting events. An Olympic-standard 10-lane 50-metre swimming pool is heated to cater for year-round use by USC students, staff and the wider community. The USC Gym provides members with safe, fun and research-supported exercise programs.

Access • The stadium provides wide doorway access. • Open and spacious, automatic doors open up

into the Raw Energy Café • Accessible toilets and showers in pool area

Lecture Theatres LT.1 and LT.2 (See map)

Located in Building K, the two largest lecture theatres on the Sippy Downs campus boast seating for 200+ people, audio systems and assistive hearing devices, recording capabilities for online engagement and accessible entries and spaces for wheelchair users.

Access • LT.1 has a capacity of 295 seats with 7

wheelchair accessible spaces. • LT.2 has a capacity of 200 seats and 4

wheelchair accessible spaces. • The two storey building housing lecture

theatres 1 and 2 are accessible via a ground floor entrance or via a lift to the 2nd floor entrance.

• Two sets of staircases lead to the second floor of Building K, featuring handrails and highly visible anti-slip staircase nosing.

• Dedicated wheelchair spaces include height adjustable folding desks.

Facilities • Accessible toilets are located on the ground

floor on the outside of Building K. • Induction loops are installed to provide the

option of increased connectivity of the lecture theatre audio systems for students using hearing aids.

• Lectures are recorded for video or audio only playback online via Mediasite through the USC Blackboard page.

Lecture Theatres LT.5, LT.6 and LT.8 (See map)

Located in Building K, overlooking a relaxing grassed area with native trees, birds and kangaroos, these lecture rooms feature a smaller more intimate teaching environment, where modern universal design and assistive technology meets accessibility.

Access • The wide door frame access flows onto the

seamlessly inbuilt ramp to 2nd-row seating. • Alternatively, 1st-row seating is available with

designated wheelchair spaces including folding standalone desks.

• Williams Sound infrared assistive hearing devices are available for use within these lecture theatres, used to connect audio to headphones or a hearing aid via a provided telephone coil coupler and an infrared receiver.

• Dedicated wheelchair spaces include height adjustable folding desks.

Facilities • Accessible toilets are located on the ground

floor of Building K (Approx. 50m – 70m) • Lectures are recorded for video or audio only

playback online via Mediasite through the USC Blackboard page.

• LT.5 has a seating capacity of 45 + 2 wheelchair spaces.

• LT.6 has a seating capacity of 107 + 3 wheelchair spaces.

• LT.8 has a seating capacity of 114 + 3 wheelchair spaces.

Lecture Theatre EG.18C (See map)

EG.18C is designed as a lecture room with a focus on technology providing increased collaboration, connectivity and social learning.

Access • EG.18C signage incorporates the use of

braille, a feature included on all room signage throughout the University.

• Automatic doors • Wheelchair accessible to either the front or

back of the lecture room • Desks at the front or rear of the room are

accessible for wheelchair users.

Facilities • Accessible toilets with automatic push button

doors are located next to the lift on each level of the building.

• Infrared assistive hearing capabilities are installed with the use of provided receivers and a telephone coil option for hearing aids.

For just a $10 per year membership fee students can access services, events, and join clubs and societies offered by the Student Guild.

Access • Access from the main campus via a wide

pathway from between buildings D and E • Accessible parking space located outside the

Student Guild • The Guild is accessed through a large sliding

door. • The spacious interior provides plenty of room,

including access to kitchen amenities.

Brasserie (See map)

The main source of food and beverage on campus, the Brasserie provides subsidised student meals, convenient snacks and beverages. The Brasserie provides a large space suitable for relaxing and socialising with friends.

Access • Automatic sliding doors on either side of the

building provide access to the Brasserie. • The food service area is wheelchair

accessible. • Counter heights meet standards for

accessibility, though if needed Brasserie staff are always happy to assist.

• A variety of indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Facilities • The nearest accessible toilet is located in the

adjacent Building I block, which includes shower facilities (approx. 10m).
