O HOLY NIGHT Holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth! Long lay the world in sin and error pining. Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices! O night divine O night when Christ was born. O night divine! O night, O night divine!

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming. With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand. So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming. Here came the wise men from the Orient land. The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger. In all our trials born to be our friend! Fall...

Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His gospel is peace. Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother And in His name all oppression shall cease. Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we. Let all within us praise His holy name! Fall... Text: John Sullivan Dwight. Music: Adolphe Adam. Arr. Michael G Sinshack. © 2007 Musicnotes Inc. COMMUNION: The Bread of Life I am the bread of life. Those who believe in me shall not hunger.

Those who believe will never thirst. I am the bread, the bread of life.

    1. Take and eat of my body. Take and drink of my blood poured out for you.

I have come to give life. I am the bread ...

    2. Take this bread freshly broken. Grown from grain scattered on the ground to

die. Death gives way to new life. I am the bread …

    3. Take this cup of salvation. Take and drink of this fruit crushed from the

vine. Death gives way to new life. I am the bread …

    4. Food and drink for the journey. Strength and comfort for the lonely, lost and

lame. I have come to give life. I am the bread ...

    5. Many parts of one body. Gathered here as the people of God. Sharing in Jesus the Christ. I am the bread …

    6. Come to me you who labour. Come and rest, I will hold you in my heart. I have come to give life. I am the bread ...

Song of Praise: May our Worship May our worship and praise Speak out with our lives As we grow I your presence O God. And in seeking your path From the truth in our hearts, May we know your presence forever.

Mantra x 3 Michael Herry fms (C)2011. Used with permission, Marist Community Australia

Eternal rest grant unto them, O lord,

and may perpetual light shine on them!

JOY TO THE WORLD Joy to the world! the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let ev'ry heart prepare him room, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n and heav'n and nature sing.

Joy to the earth! the Saviour reigns; Let us our songs employ; While fields and floods, rock, hills and plains Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat the sounding joy, Repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of his righteousness, And wonders of his love, And wonders of his love, And wonders, wonders of his love.

    household.

From Trish Stapleton, Pastoral Associate: 10 years! WOW! It is the longest I have stayed in the same place. This is an indication of the quality of your parish which welcomed me in and worked with me. It is also an indication of the quality of the Pastors, especially Fr Pat, in the last 7 years and Fr Stephen. It is an indication of the wonderful parish of-fice staff who work so tirelessly to make sure everything is just right for your celebrations and parish life.

I want to thank you all for allowing me to make this my ‘home’ parish during this time. Thank you to all who stepped up to lead groups and different ministries across the parish. Don’t ever underestimate your worth to the Body of Christ, both gathered and scattered. Thank you to those who disagreed with me from time to time, which I believe are teachable mo-ments. I didn’t always agree with you, but apologise if I have upset you in the past.

Lastly, I want to wish Paul-ine every blessing in the new role… I know she too will enjoy your support and care. Keep caring for your parish and each other as you have in the past and may God bless and hold each and everyone of you in the palm of his hands.

    Christmas Blessings! Trish

To all our parishioners… After such a year as we have just

lived through, we wish you a very happy Christmas full of the bless-ings you need, surrounded by family and friends.

We are also conscious that many of

you have lost a loved one and that you will celebrate Christmas with a heavy heart.

    May you find peace

and comfort of the Christ child.
