This instruction describes how to install software, in the form of UpgradePackages (UP) on a node.
The instruction also describes how to cancel an ongoing UP installation.
1.1 Prerequisites
The following conditions must apply before performing this task:
• The Element Manager is running.
• The UP resides on an FTP server, with access from the node.
• There is enough disk space to install the UP in the file system on the node.
1.2 Additional Requirements
Not applicable.
1.3 Procedure
This instruction describes how to install a UP on a node. It also describes howto cancel an ongoing UP installation.
1.3.1 Install Upgrade Package
1. In the Element Manager, Software view, select the additional tab UP todisplay all UPs. Right-click on any UP and select Create UP... from theshortcut menu.
The UP Configuration window appears.
2. In the userLabel field, enter the name of the UP.
3. In the ftpServerIpAddress field, enter the IP address of the FTP serverwhere the UP is located.
4. In the user and password fields, enter a valid user name and password tothe FTP server.
5. In the upFilePathOnFtpServer field, enter the complete file path with thefile name of the control file (xml file) that identifies the UP.

6. Click Create Package. The Upgrade Control File (UCF) path is verified,and the FTP server is contacted. When the UCF (xml file) has beenfound in the FTP server, it is downloaded to the node. No other files aredownloaded at this point.
7. Click Install Package. A confirmation window appears.
8. In the confirmation window, click the Install or Full install button. Statusinformation is displayed in the progress bar. The texts in the progress barcorrespond to the values of the attribute, progressHeader in the MO,UpgradePackage, where meanings of these texts are explained.
Note: Install installs only the load modules (LM) required for this upgrade.Only those LMs that have not already been installed throughanother UP, are transferred to the file system. Full install is moretime-consuming, as all LMs must be transferred to the node andinstalled.
9. To continue with an upgrade of the UP, use the instruction Upgrade Nodewith Upgrade Package.
1.3.2 Cancel Ongoing Installation of Upgrade Package
1. In the UP Configuration window, click Cancel Installation.
2. A confirmation window appears. Click Cancel installation to cancel theinstallation.
