Updating to IOS5:

The Ipad will need to be tethered to a PC that has the latest version of ITunes installed. After launching

ITunes if you are not prompted to update ITunes Select the Help dropdown and Check for Updates if

prompted install the newest version of ITunes.

After ITunes has been updated you might need to restart your PC when this has completed you will need

to connect the IPad to the PC via the USB cable. Please note the process of updating the device could

take an hour or more.

Once IOS5 is loaded you will be prompted to configure as a new Device or Restore from a backup. There

is also an Option to restore from ICloud Backup, for most individuals this wont be an option because

this wasnt available on the earlier 4.3 OS.

Please note you will need to have a wireless Internet connection to fully configure the device.

After step 6 you will be prompted to accept terms and conditions and whether you wish to set up the

device for iCloud.

iCloud allows individuals to back-up and wirelessly sync all of their Apple devices simultaneously. Some

advantages to this would be that you could recover your data if your device was damaged or misplaced.

Apple provides the first 5 gigs of storage for free but charges for additional storage. If you choose not to

use the iCloud option your iPad will be backed up to your PC as in the past. Another feature of iCloud is

the Find My iPad application that allows individuals to locate and perform remote functions with their

device. PC users will need to be running Vista or Windows 7 for this application.

The next step is to configure email for the device. The email defaults to the address listed in the ITunes

account which in this example is a personal account. The device can be configured for multiple email

accounts and how to configure the Zimmer corporate email will be addressed.

Configuring device for corporate email:

Tap the Settings icon on the home screen and then select Mail Contacts and Calendars. On the right

hand side of the page select Add Account:

Step 6: Select save to finish

MobileIron: In order to install the Zimmer Apps such as ZSI and PRI you will need to load the Mobile Iron

application. Tap the App Store icon and locate the search bar in the upper right hand corner of the

screen and search for Mobile Iron.

Enter ITunes ID and password if prompted

3. Mobile Iron is ready to configure tap Icon 4. Select OK

5. Server = m.mobileiron.net:10311 6. Accept

7. Enter Onepass Credentials 8. Select OK

9. Mobile Iron is configured 10. Select App Storefront and tap continue

11. At this point Safari will open and the Zimmer apps will be displayed

Installing ZSi 1.6

ZSi is a Zimmer application that resides on Salesforce.com in order to access this application you will

need a Salesforce.com account which can be requested by your Office Manager. This program may take

some time to install it is over 300meg

1. From Mobile Iron tap App Storefront and select ZSi 1.6 2. Select Install

3. Select OK 4. Install

5. App will start installing 6. Tap icon after install is complete

7. Enter your User name which should be the same as your Zimmer email address and your

Saleforce.com password. At this point ZSi should start loading the data from Salesforce.com to your

device. Please keep in mind that this file will be over 600 meg and could take up to an hour to load. You

might also want to be on a Wi-Fi connection to avoid any overages on data plans.

If you are unable to remember your Salesforce.com Password you will have to use the password reset

utility at the bottom of the Login Window.

1. Enter Zimmer Email address for user name 2. Check your email and follow the instructions.

*Please note when you access the password reset link from the email you might be required to enter a

verification code for the device. If you are issued a challenge question regarding the city of your first job

enter Warsaw as the answer.

Other applications within MobileIron such as PRI, Demystifying Defect Identifier, Revealing Revision

Hip Arthroplasty can be installed by simply tapping the selection.

ZSMS

To Install ZSMS open Safari and enter the following address:
