Addendum to Professional VitaNFLPA Contract Advisor Seminar for New Applicants

2003 & 2004- Invited and Participated in the NFLPA Contract Advisor Seminar for New Applicants.

-Ritz Carlton, Washington, D.C. July 31-August 1, 2004 and July 29-30, 2004 respectively.

Under the teachings of various instructors such as: Athelia Doggette, Asst. Director Salary Cap & Agent Administration, Ken Shropshire, Professor, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Richard Berthelsen, General Counsel, Deana Garner and Rachel Newman, NCAA Agents and Gambling Activities Division, and Mark Levin, Director of Salary Cap & Agent Administration, I had the opportunity to learn the intricacies of various topics of the collective bargaining agreement . We studied various topics such as:

1. Labor Law and theContract Advisor’s Role.2. Basics of the NFL Player Contract System: What Every Contract Advisor Should

Know.3. NCAA Rules Affecting Contract Advisors4. Player Benefits Under the CBA5. Taking the Helmets Off-PLAYERS INC6. Representing the Injured Player7. The Salary Cap and Contract Negotiations8. Representing Your Client Beyond Contract Negotiations

These were just a few of the issues I had to learn to pass the NFLPA Contract Advisor Examination. On both occasions, I missed passing the test by two questions, but I am familiar with the ins and outs of the CBA and workings of the NFL.

Taking in consideration my education, work history, my own non-profit sporting company, my intern at University of Louisiana-Monroe, and just proving everyday that I can function at a very high professional level in the sport marketing or sport management/marketing, I know I can be successful at that level.

My goal is to become an Athletic Director of a university, or work at an executive level at an NBA, NFL, MLB, or any other professional franchise or company. I know if given the opportunity, I can prove to my peers that I am capable of being a professional in the sporting/or corporate industry.
