Partnering with Palliative Care to Improve End of Life Discussions The DCD donor patient requires special consideration as these patients may experience distress before and after ventilator support is removed. This session focuses on the role for palliative care in the setting of donation to ensure patients and families receive the care that is centered the patient

and families experience during the end of life care. You will hear from two OPO’s that have incorporated palliative care into their practice as well as hear about how simulation training for OPO staff and physicians have improved the effective consent process which resulted in an increase in the conversion rates.
