UPDATE ON UCCP TASK FORCE HAIYAN SKILLS TRAINING FOR LIVELIHOOD PROJECT NOVEMBER 2015
U A total number 55 out-of-school youth have passed the final proficiency assessment under the
UCCP Task Force Haiyan Skills Training for Livelihood Project, conducted by evaluators from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of the government on November 15, 2015 in Barangay San Roque, Tolosa. All 55 were given a Certificate of Training as proof of their completion of the different skills curricula and are now eligible to apply to TESDA for the NC II Certification in order to apply and land on employment in companies that require industrial-level competencies.
In an interview with TESDA evaluators Raul Cayaco, Electro Dilao and Cornelio altar, they said that
based on their experience handling community-based skills trainings, these batches so far have the better performance, especially under SMAW, given that nobody failed in the final proficiency assessment.
On the other hand, all Carpentry students are now eligible to apply and be admitted to CSM

Skills trainings in East Visoria service area in Carigara have started, with the new batch of students in
Electrical Installation and Maintenance, which started in November 3, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, which
started in November 18. There are a total of 40 students now undergoing the training: 20 for SMAW NC II and
20 for EIM NC II.

EIM NC II TRAINEES IN ACTION, EAST VISORIA, CARIGARA
Early part of the training on SMAW NC II focuses more on the orientation, theoretical and safety aspects of
the skill. The instructor utilizes different multimedia materials like film showing and other graphic materials
to impart the knowledge more effectively. The lecture part of the training is expected to cover the period of
about two weeks.
