MEMBER CERTIFICATIONS BY SPECIALTY

1. Changing payment models for Radiation Oncology2. Increased Qualifications for Physicists from Accreditation

Bodies - The Joint Commission, ACR, IAC, etc.3. Decreased Pool of Qualified Medical Physicists -

Number of Residencies does not currently meet need for Residency Trained Physicists

CURRENT CHALLENGES TO OUR PROFESSION

4. Mismatch between Imaging Physics Residency positions and need for non-academic based Qualified Physicists.

5. Female and other minority representation in Medical Physics today.

6. Leadership Academy Training and Medical Physics 3.07. Need(?) for Medical Physicists Assistants and

delineations of their duties

CURRENT CHALLENGES TO OUR PROFESSION

The Number One challenge for the AAPM at this point is the Governance Structure of the organization which will be presented and discussed in the next presentation.
