Youth Apprenticeships in Chippewa Falls

In June, thirty Chamber members met with Amy Phillips, Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator at the Department of Workforce Development, to discuss youth apprenticeship opportunities in Chippewa Falls. Youth Apprenticeship is a proven school-to-work program which coordinates high school student learning and training in the classroom and at a worksite. Students in this program are considered “student learners” and are permitted to do some tasks that are otherwise prohibited by Wisconsin’s Child Labor Law. This is an unique opportunity that benefits both the student learner and the participating business.
