Elizabeth Lavin of the Fantastic Shamrocks 4-H Club has been involved in the

4-H program for 9 years. She has participated in the clothing, woodworking,

photography and foods projects. She has been the president and vice president

of her club, served the county as a camp counselor, been a delegate to State

4-H & Youth Conference in Madison, and has been an active member of PALS.

She has also participated in Creative Arts Day as an actress in one act plays and

skits as well as vocal solos.

One of the most important leadership roles Elizabeth has experienced

has been her involvement with the State Drama Company. She has been a

member of this group for the past 3 years. This is an experience she wouldn’t trade for anything. She has

met lifetime friends while growing as a performer and leader. Being a part of this group means she helps

to write and perform in a show at Youth Conference in Madison and at State Fair in Milwaukee. Elizabeth

feels that the leadership skills she has learned through 4-H especially with the State Drama Company have

been important in making her who she is today. Elizabeth’s future involves getting a degree in criminal

justice.

Jenna Snortheim a member of the Kountry Kids 4-H Club for ten years. Jenna has been involved in many

projects throughout her 4-H years – from cultural arts, child care, foods, photography, sheep, plant and soil

science, woodworking and computers to name a few. One of the projects that have helped her with her

leadership skills is the natural science project. She uses what she has learned in that project to teach 4th

graders at her school’s school forest in the spring when they tap trees for

maple sap. Jenna has attended space camp and Leadership Washington

Focus. She is currently her club’s vice-president and has been their

secretary. She is also active in PALS and hopes to be their president

someday. She has participated in many fashion and foods revues often

receiving a Best of Show for her work. Her leadership skills showed when she

ran activities at Creative Arts Day, did a TV interview to promote the fair,

organized the Kiss a Critter contest, and helped plan the annual volleyball

tournament. Jenna is a 10th graders at Auburndale High School with plans

to teach.

Casey Aschebrook has been active in the dog, arts and crafts, and drama project.

She has been her club’s president, vice-president and secretary and a two year

member of their leadership team. In her club she has served on the lawn

promotion, Dress-a-Cow, fair booth, and trips committees often serving as

chairperson. In 2012 she attended the State 4-H & Youth Conference in Madison

and has also attended Fall Forum for the last two years. Her most important

leadership role was that of president. Through that role she gained confidence and

became a role model for the younger members. She has participated in Creative

Arts Day as part of the music group, one-act plays and arts and crafts. She started

her dog project by using the project leader’s dog and after years of work she was

finally able to convince her family that she was ready to be a dog owner. In 2015 she was awarded

champion handler at the fair. During her most recent years she has worked with younger beginning

project members helping them train their dogs. Casey will graduate from Marshfield High School in the

spring and attend college in the fall.

Sam Bauman has been a twelve year member of the Webster 4-H club. Sam has served his club as

the president, vice president, treasurer, reporter and web master. He has been a part of the club’s

leadership team the last two years. He attended the American Spirit Leadership Program Trip, Fall Forum,

and State 4-H & Youth Conference. He has served as chairman and member of just about every committee

the club has had. He has been active with community service projects – from performing for the elderly,

planting flowers at a community park, helping out at fund raisers at the Upham House and setting up lights

and collecting food at the Rotary Winter Wonderland.

Sam has been active in the sheep project selling his animals at the

market sale. He was also been involved in the foods and nutrition, photography,

natural science, electricity and arts and crafts project. He has received many

Best of Shows at the fair for his work. He has also received the county portfolio

award for 9 years. Sam has been an active participant in Creative Arts Day. He

has been in the club’s one-act plays, music group, done vocal and instrumental

solos and shown his arts and crafts. He has received several acting awards. Sam

will graduate in the spring and attend Platteville University in the fall to study

engineering.
