parents of its intent to make available, upon request, certain information known as

“directory information”. The Board designates as student “directory information”: a

student’s name; address; telephone number; date and place of birth; major field of study;

participation in officially-recognized activities and sports; height and weight, if a member

of an athletic team; dates of attendance; date of graduation; awards received; or honor

rolls; and/or scholarships.

Forces”. The Superintendent is authorized to charge mailing fees for providing this

information to a recruiting officer.

Whenever consent of the parent(s)/eligible student is required for the inspection

and/or release of student’s health or educational records or for the release of “directory

information”, either parent may provide such consent unless agreed to otherwise in

writing by both parents or specifically stated by court order. If the student is under the

Important Information!!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will

be available online starting on October 1.

Make sure you have your FSA ID to fill out the FAFSA. Visit

https://fsaid.ed.gov for more information and details.

(The FSA ID has replaced the PIN.)

For the FSA ID, the parent and student need to use two different

emails. Both must have a personal email to register for the ID. It is

best to use a home email, rather than a school or work email since

you need to be able to access it for the next few years.

College Students and Parents: ® What You Need to Know About the 2017–18 FAFSA

What’s changing for 2017–18?

Starting with the 2017–18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid  (FAFSA®),  these changes will be in effect:

● You’ll be able to submit your FAFSA® earlier. You can file your 2017–18 FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2016, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, 2017. The earlier submission date will be a permanent change, enabling you to complete and submit a FAFSA as early as October 1 every year.

● You’ll use earlier income and tax information.  Beginning with the 2017–18 FAFSA, students will be required to report income and tax information from an earlier tax year. For example, on the 2017–18 FAFSA, you—and your parent(s), as appropriate—will report your 2015 income and tax information, rather than your 2016 income and tax information.

For more information, visit the Federal Student Aid website at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/about/announcements/fafsachanges  and www.FASFAhelpOH.org
