KK In KK we have been learning all about 3D shapes! We went exploring around our school to find all of the different 3D shapes we could see. KK also counted how many sides, corners and faces each shape had and we even learnt which shapes could roll.
Then KK made our very own 3D shapes out of marshmallows and toothpicks! We used the marshmallows as corners and the toothpicks as sides. Our favourite part was eating the marshmallows at the end!
We hope you enjoy our Acrostic Poems on Winter using lots of adjectives to make our poems interesting.

Life Education In Week 7, students who participated in the Life Education program visited Healthy Harold at school. Students took part in lots of fun activities while learning about how to be safe and healthy, and make sensible decisions. From all accounts, the students had a wonderful time with Harold and were very excited to have him visit us at school.
All in the name of Science… It’s never a dull moment in Science and Term 2 is no exception. Kindy have been busy identifying what common objects, such as walls, windows, doors, furniture and even wheelie bins are made of. Stage 1 has been investigating the differences between cooked and uncooked food and how heat not only affects taste and appearance but even its construction capabilities as in the case of our spaghetti towers. Stage 2 have been observing the melting process and have proved that an ice cube melts faster in freshwater than it does in saltwater. Why? Ask Stage 2! And finally Stage 3 has been investigating ‘States of Matter‘. Who’d have thought that air has mass and as a result can be weighed? And to finish off the Term on a high note, the lovely people from Blacktown City Council and Keep Australia Beautiful are visiting our school to talk about keeping our waterways clean. As well as implementation of the Dept. of Primary Industries fishing program called ‘Get Hooked’. So it has been a very productive Term with Term 3 looking even more promising with science fairs, workshops and incursions. So watch this space and as Dr Sheldon Cooper would say

It is compulsory that all students attend, as there will be no supervision at school. Students will be walking from school at 9am to Popondetta Park and will be returning approximately 2pm.
Permission notes have been distributed and should be returned as soon as possible. If you are available on the day, we are looking for volunteers to assist with time keeping. Walk Safely to School
On Friday 19 May, the SRC decided to participate in the National Walk Safely to School initiative. This event was in its 18th year, National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event when all Primary School children are encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote Road Safety, Health, Public Transport and the Environment.
Students that walked to school received a sticker from their SRC member. All students participated in a colouring competition. The best colouring received a prize from their SRC.
Well done to all students that participated!
School Dental Checks On Wednesday 24 May, staff from the Western Sydney Dental Health team visited our school to deliver an oral health presentation to students in Kindergarten and Years Two, Four and Six. The staff also performed short oral health checks on those students who returned permission notes. The Dental staff were very impressed with the standard of behaviour displayed by every student and commented several times about the lovely manners. Well done to every student who attended the presentation on the day.
