It is hard to believe that we are approaching the Summer months. It seems like we were just celebrating Christmas together. We have had a busy year so far with Outreach to God’s Storehouse, service and fellowship with Epiphany, the Lenten season and Easter holiday. Now we approach a different season for our church. Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer. Many of us will be traveling to visit family, going on vacations, relaxing at the lake and just enjoying the outdoor life. Church attendance usually drops during the summer months, but the work of the church goes on, maybe at a slightly slower pace. We are fortunate to have supply priests available to cover Holy Eucharist every Sunday this summer. While I know the 9:00 a.m. service is early, this will hopefully allow for members to enjoy the long warm days after church. As you travel, please keep your Christ Church family in your prayers and let us know if you need anything or would like to be added to one of the prayer lists. To make it more accessible, we will be including the weekly prayer list not only in the bulletin, but also in the weekly Upcoming Events email. You will also be able to add names to the list by emailing [email protected] or writing them on the current prayer list sheet at church. I hope everyone will take a moment at least once a week to read through the list in prayer. I appreciate everyone's willingness to help out the church. If you know of anyone that we need to reach out to over the summer please let me or one of the Vestry members know. Please know that while I may not see you all regularly on Sundays my thoughts and prayers are with each and every member of this church. The days, weeks and months fly by so fast.

Church attendance usually drops during the summer

months, but the work of the church goes on, maybe at a slightly slower pace.

ECW Blood Drive (Mid September)

Starting May 28th the Sunday service time will

I can't begin to thank this congregation enough for making Youth Sunday such a wonderful day for our young people and our church. It was such a pleasure to watch the youth of the church take part in the service and learn about the worship service.

A big thank you to Barbara Clark for organizing the picnic, to John and Marge Fifield for organizing the children's entertainment, to Shaun Anderson and Jerry Oakes for grilling the burgers and hot dogs and John Ross for helping us stay organized. The kids and adults had a great day! Thank you to all who brought food and helped make this event a success.

Sunday School will take the Summer off and resume after Labor Day. Once again, thank you all for the pleasure of being this church's Sunday School teacher! — Kristi Ross

The youth group met for their monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 17th. The meeting began with the youth led Evening Prayer Service and was followed with a Bojangles

dinner. During dinner, we finished the Iseado videos on Believe.  The movie reenacted the story of Jesus healing the blind man. We discussed what it would be like to experience a miracle like that today.

Then we transitioned to a topic of a new youth group project to put together bags that could be handed out at church to people who stop by the church in need of food, money or other necessities. This will be a project that we will work on with the help of the congregation in the coming months.

After our brainstorming session, we practiced for the Youth Sunday service.  We had a wonderful even ing w i th many l aughs and g rea t collaboration to make Youth Sunday a fun day. These kids are awesome! Our next meeting will be held Wednesday, June 21st and July 12th at 5:30 p.m.. Please join us!
